Re: [Dri-devel] mach64-0-0-3-branch multitexture fix
Little test report about the latest builds: In a word: cooler than ever. The snapshot runs and installs without any problems. I run it on 8M Rage Mobility in 800x600. About the apps: 1. glxinfo - OK. Standard report. 2. glxgears - 283fps. OK. No problems. 3. celestia - as usual, not enough texture memory, so most of the planets are just grey balls. Waiting for AGP mapping... 4. gltron - OK. No problems. Stable 21-22 fps - playable. 5. counter-strike - WOW!!! First time in my life it runs in wine in opengl mode, shows not only pistol - but the full environment. Still VERY (unacceptable) slow. Hopefully after DMA introduction it will get better... 6. Various GL screensavers - OK. No problems. Thanks for all those wonderful things... One more app... 7. armagetron. Works OK but ... with the same or worse fps (comparing to GATOS 2D-accelerated driver)! How can this be? Cheers, Sergey ___ Dri-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dri-devel

But it should not be too different from Savage4, I heard through the grapevine). Forgot anyone? On Thursday 21 March 2002 14:32, you wrote: Thank for your reply in French!!! J'aime bien le français (and les filles francaises) ; ) yes I am sure I want to code but I know that it will take a lot of time. Ok. So welcome aboard! a) read Linux Device Drivers 2nd edition (one of the authors, Alessandro, is italian like me and a nice chap too, so this is a must). It will help you very much to refine your kernel knowledge and to code a fast and stable drm kernel module. I have already this book (in french because a friend of mine has translated it!). ; ) Is there an driver that is easier to understand than the other?? IMHO, gamma mesa driver was the cleaner to understand. Where is your doc? I am intersted because I am trying to translate a lot of documentation in French about DRI. I am going to translate the DRI faq and I will keep going on. Nowhere around until I will fix (later this year) some of the (theoretical and non) mistakes. I started it at the real beginning of my driver, so it is no longer accurate. Sorry ; ( Do you have a contact in S3? If not, who do you send your mail? I think I am able to start but I think I will have problem because of the lack of spec for the chip (even if I can read the source in savage Utah driver). I am pretty sure that it has help you a lot to have the VirgeMx docs so I will contact S3 after reading all the material I have. Yep. I have. Since a couple of us already requested docs for more recent Savage chips we will wait to see what is S3 attitude about it. If good, I will give you a contact, so that you could get yours; otherwise we will only risk to flood them with useless and repetitive requests. I will keep you informed. [Dri-devel] Stencil buffers...
Quite question :-) Can anyone let me know if stencil buffers are supported in the Radeon driver (either the main trunk or the tcl branch)? Adam ___ Dri-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dri-devel
Re: [Dri-devel] Stencil buffers...
Please ignore. I just noticed that this was asked and answered on dri-users recently. [Dri-devel] s3virge (1 week pause)
I am going on holyday tomorrow (1 week to Sardinia). So don't be surprised if I wont immediately answer your mails: it is not that I don't care, I am just away from the net for a bit, trying to enjoy real life.
