I don't have UT2004 and you haven't posted screenshots, so I can't tell whether
it is the same bug or not. But since you are talking about unexpected colors,
perhaps it is bug #16520.

Actually, I think this was because the r300_dri.so was broken, leaving me with
swrast instead. With the latest Mesa-git I am getting 30 fps with 40% load.

--- Comment #24 from Tobias Jakobi [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-09-22 08:24:47 PST
---
I changed the summary to reflect that not only Max Payne 1 is affected by the
issues. Current list of games that are affected:
- Max Payne 1 demo (version 1.05) (through wine) (downloadable)
- UT2004 (no further information at the moment about version, etc.)
- World of Warcraft (through wine) (both D3D and OGL mode affected)

I'm not sure if I can get UT2004 to run on my system (too low specs), but there
is a demo version available, so other people can test this.

@Jiewen: Any special settings I have to do ingame?

[Bug 17723] New: Radeon XPRESS 200M (RC410) - xorg crash when enabling compiz

2008-09-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17723

Summary: Radeon XPRESS 200M (RC410) - xorg crash when enabling
compiz
   Product: DRI
   Version: DRI CVS
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: DRM modules
AssignedTo: dri-devel@lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Linux 2.6.26.3-14.fc8 Fedora 8

All code was checked out with git_xorg.sh script as of 2008-08-22. Kernel
driver radeon was compiled from current git too.

Compile seemed to go OK, and server startup was made with the following command
line:

PATH=/home/alex/xserver/bin:$PATH
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/alex/xserver/lib:/home/alex/xserver/lib/dri
xserver/bin/xinit /usr/bin/gnome-session -- -config xorg-custom.conf

Server starts up OK, but then crashes on an attempt to start compiz. Screen
remains in graphics mode with background wallpaper and (unmovable) mouse
cursor. However, the machine is remotely accessible via ssh.

dmesg yields the following message right after the crash:

[drm:r300_emit_carefully_checked_packet0] *ERROR* Offset failed range check
(reg=4540 sz=1)
[drm:r300_do_cp_cmdbuf] *ERROR* r300_emit_packet0 failed
[drm] Num pipes: 3

Last output of X server before terminating:

[Bug 16520] [i915 i945 i965] tex corruption with Max Payne / ut2004 / WoW

--- Comment #25 from lin, jiewen [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-09-22 18:28:54 PST

(In reply to comment #24)
I changed the summary to reflect that not only Max Payne 1 is affected by the
issues. Current list of games that are affected:
 - Max Payne 1 demo (version 1.05) (through wine) (downloadable)
 - UT2004 (no further information at the moment about version, etc.)
 - World of Warcraft (through wine) (both D3D and OGL mode affected)

I'm not sure if I can get UT2004 to run on my system (too low specs), but
 there
is a demo version available, so other people can test this.

@Jiewen: Any special settings I have to do ingame?

No, just start the game and play it ,the issue would be saw.
