[Dspace-tech] sync problem between 2 diff instance on 2 diff server
Hello On the single instance of Dspace there are chances of down-server problem bcoz of the traffic. So i dont want let this happen n want to use 2 server. The purpose of doing this is to cut-out the load on the single server. So I install dspace on 2 diff system, DB of the both system is common n assetstore folder is also common. It is working very well but wen i tried to search item uploaded by system A on the system B.i m getting no result. So i made search folder as a common for both the dspace instance. Hi Abhishek, Re-indexing should work. Run /[dspace]/bin/index-init to regenerate the indexes. [Dspace-tech] Pre-coordinated searches by collection
Is it possible to have a link that contains a pre-coordinated search in dspace. I'm being asked if I can create a link to send a user to a collection with a default search screen that already has chosen search this collection only feature. What I am attempting to say is that a users is on http://web something.com and there is a link to my dspace instance for collection ZZZ, limiting them to a collection ZZZ at the search screen and the search screen limits their search only this that particular collection ZZZ? [Dspace-tech] updating db via script
I need to add two metadata data values to about 200 items and I want to write a script to do this. Whenever I do this, I bring down our instance to run index-init after the metadtavalue table is updated. There was one time when I did not bring down our instance and ran index-init and I got db errors, so since then I have followed this procedure. Now, I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this. I am setting up an instance of dspace for a single unique collection. The documents do not fit very well into a dublin core schema, so I have created a custom metadata schema. I am now trying to alter the indexes to fit this new metadata schema. In the dspace.cfg file I have changed the values for the search index, browse index, sort-options, and browse links. [Dspace-tech] Backup problems
Hi, I am trying to backup a RHEL 5.7 dspace server with about 300gb of data using Legato, it fails every night with random failures on random files...this has been a consistent failure for 2 months.
