They refer to:
1) The number of Community hits
2) The number of Collection hits
3) The number of Item hits
So if you tried the following query:
http://cadair.aber.ac.uk/dspace/simple-search?query=information
(As it stands at 8/8/2007)
You would get the numbers (2,4,131)
The code that produces the log line can be found on lines 291-294 of
org.dspace.ap.webui.servlet.SimpleSearchServlet:
