Re: [Dspace-tech] Migrate Collection into new sub community

2010-10-12 Thread Claudia Jürgen

Hello Lewatle,

this is not part of any documentation as it is on database level. But
the db schema is in the docs see
http://scm.dspace.org/svn/repo/dspace/tags/dspace-1.6.2/dspace/docs/image/db-schema.gif

Make sure you got a proper update of your database befor manipulating
it. The sql command would be:

update community2collection set community_id=NewCommunityID where
collection_id=CollectionID and community_id=OldCommunityID;

Replace NewCommunityID with the ID of the target community and so on.

Then run index-update to update the browse indices.

Hope that helps

Claudia Jürgen

 Hello Lewatle,

via the DSpace UI it is only possible to move items.

You can achieve this on db level (usually warning about backup your db)
by changing community2collection and then run index-update.

 Hope that helps

Re: [Dspace-tech] Migrate Collection into new sub community

2010-10-11 Thread Matthias Zipp
 Hi,

the items has to be a part of a collection, so you have to create a new
collection in another community or sub-community and migrate the items
in the new collection.

1.
export the collection from the context menü. Go to My Exports (F5) and
download the zip file. Extract the zip file and save it on a certain
folder of the server.

2.
delete the old collection
edit - delete

3.
go to /[dspace]/bin/

./import -a -e y...@email.com -c 123456789/xxx -s /root/ingest/data/ -m
/root/ingest/mapfile01.txt

y...@email.com : email from the eperson
123456789/xxx : handle of the new collection
/root/ingest/data/ : your import path
/root/ingest/mapfile01.txt : path of a log

you find further explanation to the import by typing ./import -h
