Dear Mohammad,

welcome to the Dumux mailing list.
If you want to resolve the layer your grid needs to resolve the layer. If you
grid is regular Cartesian then YaspGrid with TensorGridCoordinates is useful
(https://git.iws.uni-stuttgart.de/dumux-repositories/dumux/-/blob/master/dumux/io/grid/gridmanager_yasp.hh#L193

)
and can be configured via the input file.
Otherwise, you have to do that in your meshing software.

Depending on your problem, you could also artificially make the layer thicker
and the account for the size different by scaling permeability and extrusion
factor for the layer.

Best wishes
Timo

[DuMux] DuMux - Help

2022-06-20 Thread Mohammad Hodroj (Alumni)
Dear DuMux Team,

I hope my email finds you well.

My name is Mohammad Hodroj and I am graduate student at the American University
of Beirut.

I am writing to kindly ask for your help in using DuMux to run my model.

Problem:
I am using DuMux (porous medium) to run my subsurface model, however, I am
facing an issue with the geometry of my model. My model consists of many layers
including reservoir, overburden, cement, and aquifer. In general, the dimension
of such a model and layers is in meters, however, the size of the cement layer
is in centimeters. The issue is that while running the simulation, the cement
layer is not appearing since the size of this layer is negligible compared with
the size of the other layers. So, my question is how can I change the scale of
the cement layer so it will appear in the simulation especially that the flow
of nitrogen will be through this layer toward the aquifer. Is it related to
discretization or gridding? How can I solve this issue?

I am looking forward to your help.

Thanks for your time and help.

Best Regards,
Mohammad Hodroj
