Niin, taidan olla yksi n. 500sta SDXL:n jäsenestä. Yritin innostaa keskustelua siitä, miten liiton toiminta ja talous saataisiin jatkossa toimimaan- heitin vain muutaman ajatuksen, jotka aika tylysti kumottiin mahdottomina. Voi olla, että ajatusmallieni pohjalta homa ei kehity sen paremmaksi. Mutta kait niitä parempia ehdotuksia sitten kuitenkin löytyy? Mielestäni näin pienen joukon kannattaisi jo ihan yhteistoimin keskustella avoimesti asioista. Sehän ei tarkoita sitä, että nykyistä toimintaa tai tekemesti kritisoitaisiin tai arvosteltaisiin- olin kuitenkin käsittänyt niin että jotain pitäs tehdä ja jäsentenkin apu olisi paikallaan. Niin, muutama madonluku vain vielä lopuksi, Jos jäsenmäärä on n. 500, niin jäsenmaksutulot ovat +23000e jäsenlehti vie suoraan kuluja n. -.1e palkkakulut lienevät suuruusluokkaa -23000e valtionapu on +1 euroa eli mihinkään muuhun ei rahaa riittäisikään. Toki Liiton työntekijä on arvokas voimavara, joka tekee pienellä palkalla paljon dx-kuuntelun ja kerhon toiminnan edistämiseksi. Se on tuossa plussaa kuitenkin- ja se, että lehti vielä ilmestyy edustavanan näköisenä painotuotteena. Mutta rahavirtaa Liiton suuntaan pitäisi kyllä vahvistaa jotenkin. (Huom en ottanut esille muita tulonmuodostuksia, koska en viitsi miettiä, mitä tarvikepalvelu + kesis esimerkiksi tuottavat). Hienoa hommaa! En itse ole vielä tuohon tutustunut, mutta kommenttien perusteella on hieno systeemi. Mutta mikä mielestäni vielä parempaa, kun Ollia olen seurannut. Olet sellaisen ITU-paletin vetäissyt SW-lokauksia, ettei paremmasta väliä. Ei perinteinen DX-kuuntelu lyhytaalloilla, mihinkään ole romuttunut. Kuuntelun helppo aloittaminen SW:ltä vaikuttaisi aivan yhtä anteliaalta kuin 70-luvulla. Ja tuo mitä nyt olet tehnyt, tuo jos mikä on hyvää markkinointiperustaa harrasteelle. Esimerkiksi, 17775 AIA. Vieläkään en ole unohtanut sitä hekumaa, jonka 300-kilovattinen TWR Bonaire lähetinkohtaisine lopetusseremonioineen antoi, Salora Metropol 1958:n kautta. Valitaan TX-paikka 142 paikkakunnan joukosta (TX Site QTH). 2. Siirretään TX:n (punainen) merkkipiste haluttuun kohtaan. 3. Syötetään koordinaattitiedot manuaalisesti niille varattuihin kenttiin. 4. Lasketaan koordinaatit Maidenhead-lokaattorin pohjalta. Syötetään Name-kenttään Maidenhead-lokaattori ja painetaan Loc calc-painiketta. Vastaavat koordinaatit lasketaan leveys- ja pituuspiirikenttiin. Vastaanottopaikka lienee helpointa valita viemällä sininen merkkipiste kartalla haluttuun kohtaan. Sen jälkeen kannattaa antaa paikalle nimi ja painaa Set Home -painiketta, jolloin vastaanottopaikka pidetään selaimen muistissa cookien avulla. Näin teen itse kun haluan pitää omat RX-koordinaattini aina samassa paikassa. Oletuksena RX-koordinaatit ovat päiväntasaajalla. Cookien voi poistaa selaimen muistista painamalla Unset Home. Oletusarvoiseksi päivämääräksi on valittu kuluva vuosi ja kuukausi. Kuukauden päivää ei tarvita sillä ennuste on voimassa kyseiselle kuukaudelle, eikä tietylle päivälle. Kuukauden ja vuoden voi valita niille varatuista valikoista. Näillä valinnoilla valitaan laskentaa varten oikea auringonpilkkuluku (SSN). Auringonpilkkuluvun voi antaa myös erikseen sille varattuun kenttään, jos haluaa kokeilla eri skenaarioita. Muutoin VOACAP-palvelu tietää aina, mitä auringonpilkkulukua pitää käyttää. This month-painikkeella palautetaan kuluva vuosi ja kuukausi. VOACAP tarjoaa lähetinpaikkakunta-osiossa mahdollisuuden valita useammasta oikeasta lähetinantennista. Tämä tieto ei tyypillisesti ole tavallisen kuuntelijan tiedossa, joten olen valinnut oletusantenniksi melko edustavan dipoliverhoantennin. Valittu antenni suunnataan aina automaattisesti RX-paikkaa kohti (näinhän ei yleensä todellisuudessa tapahdu että BC-aseman antenni olisi juuri kuuntelupaikkaa kohti). Tarjolla on (listan lopussa) myös ympärisäteileviä antenneja. Vastaanotto-osiossa antenneina on tavallisempia antennityyppejä ja hiukan epätavallisempiakin. Oletusantenniksi on valittu puoliaaltodipoli joka on 10 metrin korkeudella maan pinnasta. Vastaanottoantennia valitessa kannattaa huomata, että valittu antenni on käytössä kaikille ennusteen taajuusalueille. Samoin lähetysantenni on sama kaikille taajuusalueille. Erityisesti RX-antennin osalta valittu antennin korkeus pysyy aina samana, mutta antennin sähköiset ominaisuudet muuttuvat dynaamisesti eri taajuuksilla. Esim. RX-oletusantennin eli puoliaaltodipolin fyysinen koko on 75 metrillä luonnollisesti suurempi kuin 11 metrillä, silti yhteistä näille on sama korkeus eli 10 metriä. Ylipäänsä antenneja valittaessa ei pitäisi niinkään keskittyä antennin fyysiseen muotoon vaan antennin nousukulmaan ja vahvistukseen. Horisontaalisissa dipoleissa nousukulma muuttuu antennin korkeuden mukaan ja antennin vahvistus antennielementtien lukumäärän mukaan. Myönnetään, että antennin oikea valinta ei ole ihan triviaali tehtävä. Oletusantennin valinnassa olen pyrkinyt jonkinlaiseen kompromissiin. Lähetystehon voi valita 1-500 kW:n väliltä. India requires a grand vision for radio and a new approach to public service broadcasting. This article on public service broadcasting and communication rights argues that the All India Radio should remain true to its status as a public broadcaster. Instead of competing commercially with FM broadcasters, it must explore possibilities to devolve local radio further and experiment with this medium as a means of delivering information, education and entertainment. For a variety of reasons, the human rights framework in India, as in most other countries, is yet to grapple with the distinct nature of communication rights (CRs) or validate its specificity as a human right on a par with other human rights that we often take for granted. Scholars have described CRs as a third generation “solidarity right” along with the right to peace, right to environment and other rights (the first generation being civil and political rights and the second being economic, social and cultural rights). While we can argue on where CRs should be located among these levels, given that the right to speak, to articulate, to voice can be considered a first principle and the basis for all other rights, the very fact that we live lives within a multitude of communication environments, many that are not of our choosing, makes it an imperative that we consider its role in shaping our lives in positive and negative ways. Why we communicate, how we communicate, who communicates and who does not communicate suggests that there are rules that structure access and use of communications. Then I switch in the ATTenuation, and it goes away, so I have been listening to receiver overload instead of Chaski this time. (WWCR is also capable of producing a leapfrog mixing product from 5890 over 5935 on 5980, but not yet, as 5890 is still off the air.) BTW, the splash from 5990 CRI/Cuba was already off shortly before 0057, unusually early. It`s already August in Australia, and I am alarmed by the absence of any Shepparton signals, normally inbooming here on 13 and 15 MHz, August 1 before and after 0500: zilch on 17750, 15515 (except uncovering KUWAIT, q.v.), 15415, 15240, 15160, 13630. Hope RA SW has not been suddenly abolished, and that there`s no earthquake, wildfire or flood again! Propagation is OK as I catch NZ on 15720 just before QSY to 11725 (which has an anomaly of its own, q.v.). At 0515 still no RA, except on 12080 a VP signal, which is probably Brandon site as scheduled. Whew, next check 1155, RA is back as usual on Shep 12065, 9580, 6150, 6080. But why was it absent earlier? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CHINA. Cairo English to N America frequency has trace of modulation at best; 9965 Arabic with a bit more modulation, scratchy and useless. At 0236, 13850 with distorted undermodulation. 13850, at 0457 August 1 with more modulation but still too distorted, and now heavy flutter too. After switching from 13855 circa 0200, 13850 is now 250 kW, 315 degrees USward from Abis in ``Arabic``. While not the OSOB at this hour, it`s often the strongest, especially with R. Australia missing, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** GREECE. 9420, August 1 at 0052, ERT with open carrier/dead air again, and same on weaker 15650, equal 7275, which I keep monitoring until music starts up at 0055. Maybe this is a planned pause like 24 hours earlier. Since Ivo Ivanov reported news in English from ERT July 21, I have been trying to hear it vs almost no propagation around 1300. Finally August 1 at 1311, 15630 has surged to a very poor level so I can make out a YL speaking, seemingly with English intonation but can`t copy any words; periodically interrupted by brief music bits. Other scheduled frequencies: 9420 occupied by Chinese; 9935 out of the question with Brother Scare now on 9930 WTWW. English segment presumably ended at 1317 when I could just barely hear the haunting old ERT IS. English starts between 1305 and 1307, and on July 27, Alan Roe in UK heard it from 1307 to 1316, with this announcement: These are the news in English broadcasted by the Free Hellenic Radio programme. Sure wish they would add some other English times when we can hear it well; maybe they have, as yet undiscovered. It had been years since the original ERT provided any English, let alone the news (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** INDONESIA. 9526-, August 1 at 1252, VOI with VP signal but improved modulation, as always slightly on the lo side of 9526, and way on the hi side of ``9525``; music and talk intonation sounds Japanese as scheduled, with flutter. 1301 opening English, hear ``kHz`` mentioned in totally wrong tri-frequency announcement, but too poor to copy any programming; while so-called domestic service of RRI on 9680 is quite strong and well-modulated, I think, but also useless vs the China radio war (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** KUWAIT. 17550, July 31 at 2359, tune in just in time for R. Kuwait`s Arabic service to CW North America; good signal with flutter during Qur`an, rudely cut off at :15* August 1. Allah`ll get`em for that. Always fun to hear this wacky service propagating almost trans-polarly, as it will be steadily declining on the average as we get into fall and winter. 15515, August 1 at 0527, VP signal with ME music, i.e. R. Kuwait, Arabic at 05-09, 250 kW, 59 degrees form Kabd. Normally totally blocked by R. Australia in one-hour overlap, but that`s missing tonight, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** MEXICO. 580, August 1 at 0442 UT, XEMU, Piedras Negras, Coahuila, has overtaken WIBW Topeka, mentioning ``los dos Laredos``, timecheck, ``La Rancherita del Aire``. I suppose it covers Laredos too with non-direxional day night signal, but it`s tough luck for WIBW, despite beaming our way at night to protect WILL.
