[DX-CHAT] eQSL
Upon accessing my backlog of eQSLs at their site, I find the following: 19 from cards that I had QSL'd through the bureau and have never received a response (other than this) 15 that I QSL'd via the bureau and that sent me an eQSL as well as a bureau card. 24 that were not in the log. Most of these are from US contacts that I didn't put in my log. 11 from stations that I worked, but didn't request cards from via the bureau or otherwise. Some of the 19 that only responded via eQSL may have also sent bureau cards and they just haven't arrived yet. No way of knowing. Of those that were contacts over a year ago, it is probably best to just QSL again via the bureau since they may have sent eQSL's back then thinking they were going to be accepted by DXCC. Very interesting!! Or perhaps they're like me and QSL 100% via eQSL and send the 'real' QSL cards for stuff they need or cards they receive. I've sent 11122 cards via eQSL, my entire log for the past three or four years. It takes about 20 minutes a month to upload it. I've received 1325 cards in return. Many of these I have also exchanged paper cards with. I don't try to keep track; if I need something for DXCC I send a paper card. If someone sends me a paper QSL, I reply 100%. My eQSL activities are a completely separate thing; I don't do one or the other. It seems that very many of the hams I've exchanged with do the same thing. 73, -- _ /~\ The ASCII| J o h n B a s t i n K 8 A J S \ / Ribbon Campaign | [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] X Against HTML | http://www.qsl.net/k8ajs / \ Email! | Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org
Re: [DX-CHAT] eQSL
I wonder if the program handles this? An old call (sometimes not so old) is reissued and cards before December 2002 go to the old K5%$# and cards after December 2002 go to the new K5%$#. I'm a card sorter for the 5 buro and I have instances of this in my files. I've had a few like that; appears that the eQSL database isn't set to distinguish the before and after when this happens. 73, ron wn3vaw There must be some mistake. The Pirates in first? [DX-CHAT] e-QSL's
The web site offers a nice walnut plaque with engraved brass plate (free), well as long as you have made at least a $ 25.00 donation to the outfit, for confirming 100 countries with e-QSL's that have the Authenticity Certificate. In the last 4 months I have 41 countries, and that is just with other DX sending me a card. I made up my own e-qsl using the nice program they have on-line. I have really gotten some nice e-QSL's, and it is an nice alternative to the ARRL DXCC program when you have sorta maxed yourself out waiting for another Heard Island or Frozen Peter to come along.
