I was just told that I have a GAP VOYAGER - not a
Challenger...
my bad. SRI! Tim

According to GAP, the VOYAGER covers 160 (90 KHz),
and all of 80, 40, and 20 Meters. This antenna is roughly
45 ft tall with a large capacity hat on top. It does require
guying with non-conductive guys.

On 160M, my understanding is that the internal capacitor is
transformed to an inductance through the internal transmission line.
This inductance is in SERIES with the feedpoint. Reports
indicate that this antenna is quite inefficient on the LOWEST
band of operation.

I am aware of a couple of users of this antenna and from
my observations, they DO perform well on 80 and 40 Meters.

The GAP Challenger covers a narrow range on 80M and uses
the same capacitance transformation to inductance in series
with the feed point. I believe it works well on 40M and also covers
the high bands, including 6 and 2 Meters
