AZERBAIJAN, 4J.  Special event stations 4J20RO and 4K20RO are QRV to
the end of 2013 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the
Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Baku.  Activity of late has
been on 30 to 10 meters using mainly CW.  QSL both calls via 4J6RO.

MALDIVES, 8Q.  Jim, G3VDB will be QRV as 8Q7EJ from Komandoo Island,
IOTA AS-013, from May 13 to 26.  Activity will be holiday style
mainly on 20 meets using CW and SSB.  QSL to home call.

CUBA, CO.  Lazaro, CO2WL, Gustavo, CO2NO, and Rene, CO2RVA will be
QRV as T42T for the Volta World Wide RTTY Contest.  QSL via HA3JB.

JERSEY, GJ.  Members of the Jersey Contest Group will be QRV with
special call sign GH3IT on May 11 and 12.  The purpose of this
operation is for pile-up training purposes prior to major contests.
Activity will be on all HF bands using CW and SSB.  QSL via
operators' instructions.

SCOTLAND, GM.  Members of the Camb-Hams are QRV as GS3PYE/p from the
Isle of Mull, IOTA EU-008, until May 16.  Activity is with five
stations on 160 to 10 meters, including 60 meters and possibly 6, 4
and 2 meter with some EME if conditions allow.  They may also be
active on 472 kHz.  QSL via operators' instructions.

GALAPAGOS ISLAND, HC8.  Operators Alex, HD2A and Alberto, HC2AQ will
be QRV as HD8A from Santa Cruz Island, IOTA SA-004, from May 15 to
19.  Activity will be on the HF bands.  QSL direct via HD2A.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, HI.  Ronny, OT4R is QRV as HI7/OT4R from Punta
Cana, IOTA NA-096, until June 1.  Activity is on 20, 15 and 10
meters each day around 2000 to 2200z.  QSL to home call.

JAPAN, JA.  Special event station 8J2KSG7X is QRV until October 31
in celebration of the 70 year jubilee of the city of Kasugai.
Activity is on all bands and modes.  QSL via bureau.

FAROE ISLANDS, OY.  Carsten, OY1CT is QRV as OW75FOC during the
month of May in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the First
Class CW Operators' Club.  Activity is on the HF bands.  QSL to home

NETHERLANDS, PA.  A group of operators will be QRV as PF24MILL on
May 11 and 12 in celebration of Holland's National Windmill Day.
Activity will be on 40, 20 and 10 meters using SSB and digital

POLAND, SP.  Special event station HF500PILA is QRV until May 31 in
celebration of 500 years of the city Saw and 100 years of Pila

DODECANESE, SV5.  A group of operators are QRV as SX5KL from
Kalolimnos Island, IOTA EU-001, until May 20.  Activity is on all
bands and modes.  QSL via SV1GRM.

CRETE, SV9.  Alessandro, IK4ALM and Carlo, IZ4WJA will be QRV as
SV9/home calls from May 13 to 20.  Activity will be on 40 to 10
meters using CW and SSB.  QSL to home calls.

ANGUILLA, VP2E.  Rich, KE1B and Anna, W6NN are QRV as VP2EAQ and
VP2EAR, respectively, until May 16.  Activity is on 40 to 10 meters
using CW, SSB and RTTY.  QSL to home calls.

INDONESIA, YB.  Members of the Organisasi Amateur Radio Indonesia
will be active as YE30P from Merauke from May 15 to 17 in
celebration of the 30th Anniversary and Provincial Congress of ORARI
Daerah Papua.  Activity will be on all HF bands and modes with two
Stations.  QSL via YB9WR.

PRINCE EDWARD AND MARION ISLANDS, ZS8.  Carson, ZR6CWI and David,
ZS1BCE will be QRV as ZS8C and ZS8Z, respectively, from Marion
Island, IOTA AF-021, while on work assignment until April 2014.  QSL
via ZS1HF.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The CQ-M International DX Contest,
Portuguese Navy Day Contest, FISTS Spring CW Sprint, NCCC RTTY
Sprint, NCCC Sprint CW Ladder, Slobozhansky Sprint Contest,
VK/Trans-Tasman 80-Meter Phone Contest, EUCW Fraternizing CW QSO
Party, SKCC Weekend CW Sprintathon, VOLTA World Wide RTTY Contest,
HPC World Wide DX BPSK63 Contest, Nevada Mustang Roundup and the 50
MHz Spring Sprint will certainly keep contesters busy this upcoming

the translation and literacy operation in Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea
for the next several years.  Activity is typically during his

NETHERLANDS, PA.  Bernard, PD7BZ will be QRV as PD6MILL from the
Eendracht windmill in Gieterveen on May 14 and 15.  Activity will be

cottage near Vaggeryd until May 21.  They are also active using

DODECANESE, SV5.  Some members of the DX Plus Hellenic Amateur Radio
Team will be QRV as SX5F from Pharmakonisi Island, IOTA EU-001, from
May 14 to 22.  Activity will be on the HF bands using CW, SSB and

CRETE, SV9.  Operators OK1AMM, OK1HH and OK2BOB will be QRV as
SV9/home call/p from Agia Marina from May 17 to 28.  Activity will

June 7 and 9.  Activity will be holiday style while celebrating his
25th wedding anniversary with Eva, 9M6EVA.  Operations will be SSB
only, on 40, 20 and 17 meters, and possibly 15 meters.  QSL both
operations via Tim, M0URX, direct, by the Bureau or LoTW.

TURKEY, YM3.  Yasar, TA3D, will be active as YM3D during the CQWW
WPX CW Contest as a Single-Op/All-Band entry.  QSL via TA3D.

NIUE, ZK2.  Chris, ZL1CT, (GM3WOJ), will be active as ZK2V May 17
through June 20.  Activity will be mainly on 80, 40, 20 and 15
meters using CW and SSB, with some 30, 17 and 12 meter activity and

CHINA, BY.  I0SNY, Nicola Sanna, will be operating BY1DX May 14
through 16.  His operating time will be from 0700 to 1100Z each of
those three days.  He will sign BY1DX/I0SNY on 40 through 10 meters.

CYPRUS, 5B.  5B/OZ1IIL will be active until May 16.  He is
activating various lighthouses.

JAPAN, 8J.  Ten special calls from 8J04OM to 8J94OM will be on from
each of Japan's 10 call districts from May 16 to July 20.  They are
celebrating the 40 meter band expansion in Japan.  QSL all via the
JARL bureau.

ALGERIA, 7X.  7X2DD will be a special call sign for the
International Algerian Sahara HAM Meeting June 15 to 21.  Hosted by
members of the Algerian Radio Amateurs Association, ARA and the
Djelfa Radio Club (7X2VFK), this one will be all bands and modes and
there will be a special diploma instead of a standard QSL card.

OPERATIONS APPROVED FOR DXCC CREDIT.  The following operations are
approved for DXCC credit:  J20SE, Djibouti, 2009 Operation and
A52DT, Bhutan, 2009 Operation.

SWEDEN, SM.  Jan, PA0IJM will be QRV from the King Chulalongkorn
Memorial Amateur Radio Society using special event callsign SI9AM
from May 5 to 15.  Activity will be on 160 to 10 meters using CW and
SSB.  QSL via SM3CVM.

MOUNT ATHOS, SV/A.  Monk Apollo, SV2ASP/A has been QRV on 160 meters
around 1800z and on 80 meters around 1930z.  QSL direct.

CORSICA, TK.  A group of operators will be QRV as TK7C from May 3 to
10.  Activity will be on 80 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and various
digital modes with three stations active simultaneously.  QSL via
F9IE.

BRUNEI, V8.  Ambran, V85SS has been active on 20 meters between 1330
and 1400z.

PRINCE EDWARD AND MARION ISLAND, ZS8.  Petrus, ZS6GCM will be QRV as
ZS8T from Marion Island, IOTA AS-021, until the end of March 2009.

OPERATION APPROVED FOR DXCC CREDIT.  The following operation is
approved for DXCC credit:  Afghanistan, YA/LY1Y, operations in 2006
and 2007.

around 1000z.

CHINA, BY.  Yasuo, JA6UBY is QRV as BY4CSS from Shanghai.  Activity
is mostly on 20 and 15 meters using CW and SSB.  QSL direct to home
call.

THE GAMBIA, C5.  Noz, C5DXC is usually QRV on 15 meters using SSB
between 1900 and 2100z.

CANARY ISLANDS, EA8.  IZ0BTV, IZ7FLP, EC8ADS, EC8ADW and EC8AUA are
QRV as ED8OTA from Gran Canaria, IOTA AF-004, until May 14.  QSL via

Nok Island, IOTA AS-080, from May 18 to 21.  Activity will be on 80

THAILAND, HS.  Fred, K3ZO is QRV as HS0ZAR and has been active on 20

until July.  He will place an emphasis on 6 meters during the last
month of his stay.

VE1RGB and VY2RU are QRV from Janvrin Island, IOTA NA-010, until May
15.  QSL via operators' instructions.  Meanwhile, Linda, VE9GLF and
Len, VE9MY will be QRV from Newfoundland Island, IOTA NA-027, and
Newfoundland's Coastal Islands, IOTA NA-198, beginning May 16 for a

MICRONESIA, V6.  V63SC is generally QRV on 15 meters after 0500z.

NORFOLK ISLAND, VK9N.  Jim, VK9NS has been QRV using RTTY on 20

MACAO, XX9.  Savio is QRV as XX9BB and has been active on 20 and 15
meters using RTTY.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The CQ-M International DX Contest,
Thursday NCCC Sprint CW Ladder, VK/Trans-Tasman 80-Meter Phone
Contest, Feld-Hell Spring Sprint 2006, Mid-Atlantic QSO Party,
Alessandro Volta World Wide RTTY Contest, FISTS Spring CW Sprint,
EACW International Contest and the 50 MHz Spring Sprint will
certainly keep contesters busy this weekend.  The Run for the Bacon

BALEARIC ISLANDS, EA6.  Peter, DL8YR is QRV as EA6/DL8YR/p from
Mallorca, IOTA EU-004, until May 26.  Activity is on all bands using
CW, SSB and possibly RTTY.  QSL to home call.

CANARY ISLANDS, EA8.  Steve, EA8/G0SGB/p is active from various
lighthouses on Lanzarote Island, IOTA AF-004, for about two weeks.

MOLDOVA, ER.  Station ER0ITU is QRV until May 17 to celebrate World

FRANCE, F.  A team of French amateurs will be QRV as TM1X from Aix

SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS.  Voytek, SP5QF is QRV as HF0QF from the
scientific base Henryk Arctowski on King George Island, IOTA AN-010,
until the end of the year.  QSL via SP7IWA.
 
THAILAND, HS.  Choon, E20HHK is working in the northern part of
Thailand and QRV as E20HHK/6 and E20HHK/5 until May 23.  He is
active on 80 to 10 meters using mostly CW.  QSL via E21EIC.
Meanwhile, Charles, K4VUD is QRV as HS0ZCW until August 15.

SOUTH KOREA, HL.  A group of South Korean amateurs will be QRV as
D77A from Tok Island, IOTA AS-045, from May 20 to 23.  Activity will
be on 160 to 6 meters, using CW, SSB, RTTY, SSTV and PSK31.  QSL via

SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS.  Martin, LU5DO is a new operator and is QRV
until March 2005 as LU1ZA on the scientific base Orcadas on Laurie
Island, IOTA AN-008.  QSL via LU4DXU.

BELGIUM, ON.  Daniel, ON7VZ will participate in the European Castles

BRAZIL, PY.  Special event station ZW1I is QRV until May 31 in
celebration of the 437th Anniversary of the city of Itaborai.

GREECE, SV.  Jindrick, OK1AMM and Bob, OK2BOB are QRV as
SV8/OK1AMM/p and SV8/OK2BOB/p, respectively, from Corfu Island, IOTA

SOUTH GEORGIA ISLAND.  Alex is QRV as VP8SGB from the British
Antarctic Survey Jordan Cove base on Bird Island, IOTA AN-007.  He
is active using SSB, generally on 20 meters after 1800z.  QSL via
GM0HCQ.

CAMBODIA, XU.  Oleg, ES1RA is QRV as XU7ARA and has been active on
17 meters around 1300z.  He has also been active on 160, 80 and 40
