[DXR] QSL 4K5CW, 4K9C and 4J4K
Hello, With this message i will let you know, that i am not the QSL manager anymore for 4K5CW,4K9C and 4J4K. I will be answering all qsl request for contacts made till 31 march 2001. I not get logs from him the last month, and they not send me qslcards.! The first time i printed about 3000 qslcards for him to send out to the stations who send a qsl request. But i will do that not again. I did the best to answering all requests for the stations in Azerbaijan till now. I ask him long time that he must send logs to me but not a answering back. But last week 4K5CW send me a Email and he write that the stations have a new manager. In the Email he send to me he ask also to send him the money that was sending with the qslcards, but he don't know how much it cost to send the cards back to all the stations.! He write also that he is not interesting in the QSL cards i received for him, but only for the money. That is also the reason to stop to be the manager for him. I don't know who the new manager is, but i deleted my call by the QSL info for this three stations. that is the story. Hi Jim, Yes! I wkd Pedro. 75 Phone 4/26 @ 00:30Z Usual signal strength as he was on other Bands. I guess it was a case of U just hada be there timing, timing timing. GL I think there is still time, GL de Bernie/WO2N. Jim Reisert wrote: Has anyone in the USA worked Pedro on 75 meters lately (i.e. this past week)? I tried to get him to move from 20 - 75 the other night, but there was enough QRM on the frequency (and he was weaker than usual) that I didn't understand his reason for not being able to move (sounded like no conditions). He has NOT been that strong on 40, at least compared to when he was there a year or so ago. The times he has been spotted on 75, he was barely readable. 75 (and 30) are my last bands for Malpelo. [DXR] vp8sdx 12m op?
GM all; I noticed that this morning vp8sdx is on 24920 wkg ssb. I have not heard this b4 from even out-of-USA-ops. I thought the band edge was 24930 and up for ssb. One morning a few weeks ago, I heard several W6s on 24920 doing a rag-chew. I broke them saying they were out of band es was promptly told to go read my regs and get away pse. So I left them alone and did re-check the freq allocations. Everything I have sez 24930 and up for ssb. However, I am not sure what the allocations are for the rest of the world. Never having heard any other stns below 930 using ssb except the 6s, I assume that the rest of the world is in line with this freq allocation set-up. Anybody have any comments on this? I think the vp8 is checking 930 but have not heard any USA stns wkg him yet. [DXR] 12m out-of-band question...more
Tnx to all who responded to my question re the lower than 24930 ssb operation. The consensus is that the ssb lower band edge is in fact 930 as suspected. Having said that, if u all will tune to 24920 u will hear vp8sdx on ssb wkd EU es USA na/sa from 925 to 935. This spilt is a good idea reminiscent of the good old days when dx wud transmit below 14200 es listen above 200 (u have to be older to remember this). Does anybody have anything to add re the possibility of regs being different in other lands re band edges? I am not trying to be a policeman here, just interested in gathering some more knowledge...especially since I cannot hear the tx0c anywhere...yet. Re: [DXR] vp8sdx 12m op?
Steve, The USA 12 Meter band limit for phone operation is 24930-24990 but many other countries around the world are not restricted in the 12 meter band like in the USA. Fortunately, most comply to the USA band by staying above 29930 on ssb and leave the lower portion for cw only but some don't. The same applies to 20 meters where there are no restrictions on ssb from 14000-14350 in some counties. However, most operators, by gentlemen's agreement, fortunately, stay above 14100! 73, Joe, W1JR At 10:41 AM 4/29/01 -0700, Steve Litwins wrote: GM all; I noticed that this morning vp8sdx is on 24920 wkg ssb. As this was being written, the 3B6RF team is heading to Agalega and plans to arrive around May 2nd or 3rd. The team will start operating 10 or 12 hours after landing and stay active until the 16th or 17th of May. From a press release by Steve, N3SL, the advance team for 3B6RF had been on 3B8 for a week where they obtained the license and landing permit, and purchased the perishable supplies and arranged final transportation. The remaining crew should have been in 3B8-land by Saturday, April 28th. Their flight arrangements now calls for travel to 3B6 via S7, and they expect to be on the air by May 3rd, and to begin the tear down process on May 16th. They will not begin operations until all 6 stations are assembled, which includes the massive array of antennas. Once they start, they will be on all bands, 160-6 plus satellite, and all modes (CW, SSB, RTTY/PSK, FM, and SSTV). Their team of 21 members, many of whom gave you 3B7, is giving concentrated effort to North America, with extra attention to the low bands. Unfortunately, they do not share common darkness past the Midwest, so pray hard to the 160 gods! There may be times they have 2 or even 3 stations on 160 simultaneously if conditions warrant. They fully expect to finish with 100,000+ QSOs, approximately 65,000 on CW and at least 2,500 on RTTY/PSK. The digital modes will commence on day 1, but with times limited to 1 hour/continent until the CW pile-ups are worked down a bit. Then more effort will be placed on digital. PSK31 will be a bit unique, as they are using software capable of decoding multiple signals simultaneously. They will listen both up and down 1+ kHz, allowing them to work someone up 1 while already decoding the next station down 1 and vice versa, keeping the rates as high as possible. Standard DX frequencies will be used, and they will always work split. The entire band plan is spelled out on their web page. A color QSL is planned, so QSLing will not begin for some time after the expedition is over. North American (Canada, U.S., and Mexico) QSLs go via Kimberly Larson, the
