Re: [DX-NEWS] (Fwd) AH3D log search now up and running
Worked fine for me. Casey/KQ4YI TPL III wrote: Has anybody gotten a response from this yet? As promised subscribers of The Daily DX and The Weekly DX are the first to know and try out the AH3D log search. I would personally like to thank N4GN, Tim, for helping out with this process. Send e-mail message The process takes about 30-90 seconds. You will then receive a response back, in the form of an e-mail, stating your QSOs that are in the AH3D log. Go to this URL and look this 'virus' up. And look up any 'virus' before you send out a message such as this. http://www.F-Secure.com/ Adam Romanchuk wrote: A virus has been passed on to me by one of my contacts. My address book has in turn been infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you will find it on your computer too. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book , whether or not you sent e-mails to your contacts. Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it.. YOU MUST DO THIS I found the teddy bear virus in my C drive 1. go to Start, Find or Search option 2. In the file/folders option, the name:jdbgmgr.exe. Be sure you search your C: drive and all sub folders and any other drives you may have.4 Click the Find Now 5. Re: [DX-NEWS] Hrane YT1AD in P5?
First I must say I am not a member of the ARRL, I left when I disagreed with some of their policies. However, when I see postings regarding this dissatisfaction (or so it seems to me) of ARRL policy, I wonder about the Members. The motto of ARRL is Of, by, and for the radio amateur. Their statement of Membership inquiries etc. should be addressed to the administrative office. Have you queried them about the P5 situation? It would seem to me to address them is the proper avenue, not a forum such as the reflector. Why not query them? They are the only ones that know the situation, and the ones who should provide the answers. Casey/KQ4YI MGB wrote: This list covers a pretty wide area. Has ANYONE on the list ever seen a copy/photograph/duplication etc of the P5 license? Does anyone know of another person who has seen it? Re: [DX-NEWS] IRCs
Here's a message received from the UPU answering the question about a possible expiration of "old" IRC's. --- Dear Mr. Bell, Kathleen forwarded your message to me for a response, since my programme looks after IRC matters now. The "old" coupons will remain valid for exchange indefinitely. Sincerely, Akhilesh Mathur Mail Programme Manager International Bureau of the UPU Kurt Brandstetter wrote: Hello Albert ! Hello to all of you ! I got this information also 2 days ago from our post office company but they could not tell me how long the old IRCs are valid. They thought it could be the same time as our old stamps are valid. Thats until 30. June 2002. I think we will get problems if some countries take different times until the old IRCs are worthless.
Re: [DXR] IRC's ... more
As previously stated here, 1 IRC is 'supposed' to be good for one air mail letter in all countries in the Universal Postal Union. I questioned the UPU about Switzerland requiring 2. She confirmed that they do, and it's due to the Swiss interpretation, and the fact they have multiple rates. She also said the UPU was not pleased with their way of doing it, but nothing they can do about it. Also, IRC's never 'expire'. I can't recall the exact wording, but my interpretation of the 'old surface IRC's' is they may be exchanged in the country of origin. The UPU Regulations are on the Web, but in Adobe, and difficult to find a particular subject. They're listed by chapters, and not pages. Takes some time, but you can find the info if you're patient. The UPU Member's may sell IRC's for whatever they wish, but their value is based on a percentage of the SDR, and I was never able to find a definition of SDR.
