[Dx-packages] [Bug 1575655] Re: the network indicator shows the wrong status

2017-12-05 Thread DannyDei
In my case the network indicators are now fine.

The problem is that the wi-fi goes to sleep within minutes and the
restart comes back without any wi-fi signal at all. The only way out is
to reboot.

The strange thing is that if I run https://fast.com/ the Net speed
riches the highest values, while other sites stay blocked.

Another upsetting thing is that after some Ubuntu updates the system
freezes within minutes from start and I can only use the previous kernel
until a new, likely working, update.

Title:
the network indicator shows the wrong status

Status in indicator-applet package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Description: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
  Release: 16.04

  indicator-applet:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 12.10.2+15.04.20141127.2-0ubuntu1

   12.10.2+15.04.20141127.2-0ubuntu1 500

The network indicator sometimes shows the icon for wired connections
and sometimes claims wifi without connection even though I'm
consistently connected over wifi. I don't mean to say that it switches
between these two or that always is wrong. But sometimes my connected
to wifi symbol changes to wired. Other times it will change to the no
connection wifi. The info is correct on boot, but switches over time,
  possibly after suspension.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1575655] Re: the network indicator shows the wrong status

2017-02-02 Thread DannyDei
On my Lenovo YOGA 300 it seems that the bug might be related with "time"
or "weakening" of the WI-FI signal:

all works fine initially but then within tens of minutes the network
icon and the Network itself goes OFF

I can give it a shake and reset it with the Network applet and the first
few times the icon reflects the resetting but then it goes on Wired or
NO-WIFI even if the network is fine and signal strength OK or GOOD.

The all thing deteriorates progressively since I get forced to reboot
the system and the whole circle starts again
