[Dx4win] crash

2002-01-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Courtney Judd)
Flame out here! computer crashed and I lost the few qso's that I had logged.
It saved it somewhere but I can't remember where. Anyone know where to look?
I really wouldn't care but I just had worked OX3OX on six meters and was a
new one for me. Thanks

[Dx4win] Win2K NTFS??

2002-01-03 Thread Turner, Bob
Hi Phil,

I agree with the other person who answered - use NTFS. Unless you need to
dual boot W9x and W2K, go with NTFS. Much better chance of a recovery after
a power failure / system crash.

As for the C and D partitions on the same physical drive, there is merit to
that idea as well. However, in my case, I prefer fewer rather than more
drive letters.

Bob

Subject:[Dx4win] Win2K NTFS??

Hopefully this posts!!! Was sent earlier and NADA!!!

 Few questions

1.) I'm building a new PC (Athlon XP1700+ with Soltek 75drv2 DDR Ram
w/Via
266A chipset MB) and I need to install DX4WIN onto this new PC... What
is
the best way to do a clean install and get everything back up to speed
in
DX4WIN (using 5.02 w/ Win2K Pro OS) from my old PC? (I.e. all the
save
 files, .INI etc)

 2.) Presently I'm running DX4WIN on my PC with Win2K Pro with a FAT32
file
system... Has anyone converted over to NTFS??? Can I do this on my
new
PC and move all my DX4WIN files onto this new NTFS/HD Help!!!

 Thanks, Phil L. W2GE

[Dx4win] Spot irregularity

2002-01-03 Thread Dean Norris
I connect to a couple of different clusters via the DX4WIN telnet
capability. My normal connect is to an AR cluster but I also check a CLX
type. Here is the problem

On CLX, all spots sent to the packet window end up in the spots window. On
AR clusters, I get all of them EXCEPT those coming from my home state of
Arizona. Of course, those are the most informative to me. I cannot figure
any other difference. I do not understand the the Spotting patterns codes
and they are apparently not defined in the manual.
the pattern in the AR Cluster is

DX de K7NO:7002.2 P5ABC Notes P5 0123Z AZ

The CLX pattern is the same except for the exclusion of the originating
station's state.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Dean

[Dx4win] Fwd: 10M Contest problem

HELP: I have a problem. My 10M 2001 Contest log is still sitting in my
computer awaiting an answer!
I use Write Log. In the Multiple column where the 1's are listed - I find
that all the contacts with Canada and the U.S. have a question mark
alongside. Also, they are not accepted in the Pho. totals. It doesn't add
up to very many as I was only able to work the Contest on the Sunday.
Did anyone else have this problem? I think it has to be Write not doing
the job . I don't suppose it will get corrected if I make the Cabrillo
and import it to Dx4win? I may have to contact Write Log. I have
version 10.18C.
   Any
 comments. Margaret k4ahc
