[Dx4win] DX4WIN New Version
I like MMTTY and continue to use it for just the neat RTTY tuning indicator. I have carefully compared my KAM, MMTTY and MixW for receiving RTTY, and MixW definitely has the edge, with MMTTY second. MixW is appealing also since it runs CW, Packet, FSK31, AMTOR, PACTOR (receive only), MFSK, Throb, MT63, Hellschreiber, FAX and SSTV, as well as BPSK31 and QPSK31. I do not use its logging capabilities. 73, John, K2CIB - Original Message - From: Roy Dancy [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Bob Check [EMAIL PROTECTED]; dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2004 7:07 PM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN New Version I must agree about MMTTY. I operate 99% RTTY and much like MMTTY. 73 y'all N4AN - Original Message - From: Bob Check [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2004 10:44 AM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN New Version Yes, I will be changing programs soon if we can't get RTTY and the other fix's changes mentioned, 2 years between updates is way to long! 73, Bob w8gc Heartily concur.so many others have done it - and quite some time ago. 73, Joe WD0M At 09:22 AM 4/13/2004, Steve GW4BLE wrote: Although not a particular RTTY aficionado, it still seems (to me) a pity an MMTTY interface is *not* planned for the new release, but we have to wait until the one after. 73 Steve GW4BLE ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

You can reduce the number of 'active' fields, and hence tabbing, through the Preferences' menus, if you're prepared to accept the defaults for the 'not displayed' fields. Ideally, a tool that allowed one to personalize the main QSO window, such as which fields are displayed, in what order, and the formats for those fields, would be address nearly everybody's 'complaints'. But... to incorporate such complexity (bug-free, of course), maintain it and troubleshoot the resulting myriad of possible user configurations would be a horrendous. Not impossible, but would probably entail more time/effort than the developers can devote to this product. In the meantime, we have something which is somewhat configurable, reliable and predictable. 73, Darrell Clive GM3POI wrote: What I find annoying is that if I was to have a lot of fields activated to be filled in, once I have gone past the callsign I have to tab through a load of junk to get back to the callsign in order to change say a letter. It would be much better to have the use of say the page up or up arrow key to flip back a field or two rather than having to go in only a forward direction. And I'm NOT interested in using a mouse if I'm running a pileup. 73 Clive GM3POI - Original Message - From: Rick Graham [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2004 1:47 AM Subject: RE: [Dx4win] entering data Only if you worked him before and entered all the data in. 95% of my contacts are first-timers. I'll just have to get used to the extra steps of saving the call and then hitting F10. 73 DE AS3J, er AI3W - Now I have to hit F10! :) For example, when you work KK3HD, and find out it is actually KK4HD, the notes for the call, the state and county etc. will be updated when you make the correction. I forgot about this one. I believe the menu item is in the logging window itself, under QSO - Disable Fields. Note that if you disable fields, you can't tab into them using F8 to search (TAB will skip over them). Thus you need to maintain a balance between fields you don't want to enter (ie. date), vs. fields you want to search on (ie. date). 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC
