Tried both loading from scratch and copying the complete DX4Win folder but still get the message: Port Driver Not Found Check Appendix: Files for the correct driver This sure sounds familiar but I have not been able to find the answer. Thank you ! 73 Paul F6EXV F6EXV wrote: Hello all, I am about to go on expedition, and would like to use DX4Win on a portable computer that a friend lets me use on that occasion. I installed DX4Win, and even as a demo, the program will not start, with an error message saying : Port driver not found. The computer has Windows Millenium. Any hint, and way to correct that ? For sure it has the wrong driver. The correct driver is loaded when the program is installed. Reinstall DX4WIN and I think your problem will go away. [Dx4win] Port Driver Not Found ?
Paul, The example given was for winNT/XP. For Windows/98 there is a different driver and destination directory. From the on-line help: for Win/95/98: Windows\System\Vichw11.vxd for Win/NT/2000/XP: WinNT\System32\Divers\Vichw11.sys I made some modifications in 6.04 to see if we can eliminate the problem. --Paul At 06:38 PM 1/9/2005, F6EXV wrote: Well, here is the fix I was given...but sorry to say, Leif, that does not solve my problem...
