[Dx4win] DX4WIN running under Linux

2005-04-19 Thread Kurt W. Zimmerman
Good day all;
I was kind of watching this thread for a while but didn't have much
interest until a friend of mine mentioned he'd like to look for something
running under Linux. I've checked the archive and didn't see much on this
thread. I'd like to hear from those who have tried this under win4lin. I'd
like to hear the good vs. evil on this.

Thanks in advance.

[Dx4win] Error explained

2005-04-19 Thread John Paul Keon
OK,
I just read my own message and it was vague.

I was naving problems getting the Telnet to work on the packet
window and got the first message from that when I tried to go
on there and see the spots.

Excpetion Occurred: List Index out of bounds (0).

So, then when I uninstalled and reinstalled my DX4WIN 6.03
I have not been able to open the program and get it to run at all.
The message:
Port Driver not found.
Check Appendix Files for the correct driver.

And that is where I am at now.

I did save my SAVE log and that is intact. I can copy it to
the log when I can get it to run. But, for right now, I am stuck.

Any help would be appreciated.

[Dx4win] Error

I contacted AD1C and he advised to uninstall 6.03 and
 reinstall.

 I did that.

Now I get a new message:
 ERROR: Port Driver Not Found:
Check Appendix Files for the correct driver.

Have you rebooted since the reinstall? That's necessary for the driver
to be loaded.
If you have rebooted, the driver is supposed to be in the drivers
subdirectory of the installation tree - try copying the files from
C:\Program Files\dx4w603\drivers\*.sys to
c:\windows\system32\drivers\ and rebooting.

I am using win98se

Yes, I did a reboot after the reinstall.
It still would not open.
It still gives the same error message.

I am looking at the fixes and will check those.

I ran Norton Utilities after the problem arose,
and even did a complete check.
The problem is still there.

I am looking at the files that might be missing now.

Check to see vichwll.sys is loaded into the windows drivers subdirectory.
Which OS are you using? Win9X , WinXP?

If Win XP do you have SP1 or SP2?

Are you using a firewall, windows or ZoneAlarm or the like?
