[Dx4win] upgraded to Vista issues with 8.02?
I upgraded my computer from XO to Vista and now version 8.02 is having issues with reading the .TCP file in the associated SAVE folder. When I look at the file with notebook I see the keep alive |3 at the end of a entry. When I click on the packet window in DX4WIN the entries do not contain the |3 that I put there??? I have reverted to version 8.01 and it reads the .TCP file in it's save folder just fine. Also, why all of a sudden did an L show up for my latest contact with EY7AF in the listings, and other contacts window? I see that DX4WINhelp is no longer available in Vista. You probably need to reinstall in a new DX4Win directory that is NOT under program files or program files (86) I would suggest that you do a re-install then move your files over as per AD1C's instructions... It's a reminder of how log D4W has been around. There are still a few artifacts of an earlier age in the way D4W works. It reminds me of the first time I saw a PC with sound. I was very impressed... it was an Apple! Even when you change a comport in preferences when dx4win is running it will check instantly and stops also the previous selected port. General · Better protection against starting multiple instances of the program (avoids license file errors) Its not better Paul, its perfect now, I have tried so many different ways But can´t get it starting twice. When I installed version 8.03, it installed in a new directory. Besides the * dxl (log files) which other files from my previous version (8.02) should I copy into the new Save sub-directory? Don't install DX4W80x in the Program Files (x86) directory, install them as suggested at the root of the drive, ie. C:\dx4w802 Also, why all of a sudden did an L show up for my latest contact with EY7AF in the listings, and other contacts window? Did you merge your preferences (INI file) from the old version to the new version?
