Re: [Dx4win] windows 7
William, For me DX4WIN works great with my Asus 64bit with Windows 7 Professional. My Asus has two discs. Standard C and solid state D. My DX4WIN is installed on D:\Program Files\dx4w804 I think it will be better to use the C:\Program Files (x86) directory for DX4WIN. The reason - much simple installation. I´am using two radios. First Radio 1 as local, the second Radio 2 remotely controlled. Antenna Rotator, RTTY, PSK31, CW nad RTTY keying works OK. Only one problem I have is that DX4WIN can´t identify the right radio for CW keying. The reason - LPT port is missing on (not only my) notebook. DX4WIN use LPT port for Radio 1 / Radio 2 signal. 73, Milan Date: Mon, 20 Dec 2010 18:46:49 -0600 From: William Osbornewosborn...@gmail.com Subject: [Dx4win] windows 7 To:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Message-ID:001501cba0a8$8e239e80$aa6adb...@com Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii I have been watching the Win7 comments on this list, but I wonder if anyone has Win7 working correctly including holding window sizes/positions between sessions? Re: [Dx4win] windows 7
Installation might be easier, but the periodic data file updates become a nightmare. Please take our advice and keep the DX4WIN directory out of the Win7 Program Files directory. Where you have it on your non-system drive is just fine. Dick At 09:30 AM 12/21/2010, Milan Gütter, OK7GU wrote: William, For me DX4WIN works great with my Asus 64bit with Windows 7 Professional. [Dx4win] A useful program for antenna Rotator tracking with DX4WIN
Hi all, I´am using DX4WIN for my remotely installed beam control. I have not the Rotator Controll box in my shack, I can´t track my actual antenna direction during rotation. I found nice program for antenna tracking, the PstRotator. http://www.qsl.net/yo3dmu/index_Page346.htm Works not only for DX4WIN, but for many other logs. Now I can track my antenna during turning to desired direction. 73, Milan, OK7GU www.ok7gu.com __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] windows 7
Using Ver 8.04 that works FB with WIN 7. Only suggestion I have is not to try to use any skins other than the standard default. When I tried to use different skins I had problems. I also followed the instruction to install DX4WIN to my C: dir and not to either of the C:/PROGRAM folders. I believe if you install DX4WIN in a program folder you may have problems. -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of William Osborne Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 4:47 PM To: Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] windows 7 I have been watching the Win7 comments on this list, but I wonder if anyone has Win7 working correctly including holding window sizes/positions between sessions? No Jim. I'm saying it out loud. Sure is a lot of change and a lot of work. A nice Christmas present to us all. Thank you for your never ending work and contribution to the hobby!! 73 and Happy Holiday, Howard K2HK Date: Tue, 21 Dec 2010 16:09:46 -0700 From: jjreis...@alum.mit.edu To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Release notes for DX4WIN.CTY #89 Hi Folks, I've started work on DX4WIN.CTY #89 which I expect to release in early January 2011. You can read the release notes here: http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/release.shtml#89 After reading this, you might be saying to yourself, Wow, that's a lot of changes! Well, it is (almost 200 if you really want to know). After doing some earlier work checking the last date a callsign was used, I added checks for the starting date (by comparing to old DX Cluster spot data). What I found is that many calls in the database had no start date (and probably should have), or the callsign was used BEFORE the date in the DX4WIN database. I prefer to keep the start dates accurate, since I don't want to disturb any QSOs with the same call that may have occurred BEFORE the start date (and for which I have no information). All changes were inspected visually in addition to the automated (program) checks. Please inform me of any changes before the new year. I probably won't work on this again until then. Re: [Dx4win] windows 7
There is a bug in the skins software. Stick with the standard.
