Re: [Dx4win] Radio Timeout
I run a K3 with Win7, and only get a radio timeout after pressing the REV button for about 15 seconds. I do not get a radio timeout if I use the A/B button to hear the split frequency. I'm pretty sure this was the same when I ran Win XP with the K3 and, before that, with the TS-850. 73, John, N3AM At 03:13 10/12/2012, Dave Perry, N4QS wrote: Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2012 22:13:06 -0500 From: Dave Perry, N4QS n...@comcast.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Radio Timeout Sender: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net To: 'Thomas Lutz' tel...@earthlink.net, dx4win@mailman.qth.net Reply-to: n...@comcast.net Tom, I do not run Windows 7, but my K3 works great with DX4WIN. Re: [Dx4win] Radio Timeout
John and Tom, I just confirmed the same behavior with the REV button running XP. My K3 timed out after about 20 seconds. I have a subRX on my K3, so I never use the REV button when running split. I normally just turn on the subRX and then listen to both frequencies at the same time. The workaround is to use the A/B button as John suggests. I wonder if a change to the radio control file in DX4WIN would fix this time out problem when pressing the REV button. Re: [Dx4win] Radio Timeout
I just confirmed what John, N3AM, said about timeout when depressing REV for about 15 seconds. Had to restart radio to get interface working again. I am using XP. Re: [Dx4win] MMTTY
Hi John Here are a couple things to check: Is the path to MMTTY on the RTTY tab in Preferences correct? Mine is c:\program files (x86)\mmtty\mmtty.exe. I have struggled with Win 7 saving some files as Compatibility Files, which I have yet to fully understand. In any case, sometimes files end up in the wrong folder and then programs such as DX4Win can't find them. Good luck. 73, Bud N7CW On Thu, Oct 11, 2012 at 9:36 PM, W9RPM j...@w9rpm.com wrote: Hi, I am trying to get MMTTY going in DX4WIN. I am running Windows 7. Ran fine on old machine. Bud, thanks. I tried that, and still won't start. Had no problem before, so will keep trying to figure it out. 73 John On 10/12/2012 8:47 AM, Bud Semon N7CW wrote: c:\program files (x86)\mmtty\mmtty.exe -- EMAIL: j...@w9rpm.com WEBPAGE: http://www.w9rpm.com/ Wisconsin VHF/UHF County Hunters: http://www.wivuch.com/ DX and CONTEST CLUB: http://www.w9idx.com/ La Crosse Hams: http://www.lacrossehams.org/ AOL IM: W9RPM YAHOO: W9RPM __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] MMTTY
Do you have DX4Win at the C:\ Level? If it is in Program Files, Win7 blocks the program from taking a lot of actions on your computer. 73, John K9EL -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of W9RPM Sent: Friday, October 12, 2012 12:04 PM To: Bud Semon N7CW Cc: DX4WIN Subject: Re: [Dx4win] MMTTY Bud, thanks. [Dx4win] PSK31 alternate software
There are several pieces of software to implement PSK31. Can any one of them be used with DX4WIN? If you use software different from that which comes along with DX4WIN, do you lose functionality? For example, the ability to click on a call sign in the PSK31 window and have it drop into the QSO window. Thanks for the advice.
