Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN not keying

2013-04-11 Thread Larry Gauthier (K8UT)

Mike,

You mention Windows 95, but not which version of Dx4Win?

95? My first suggestion would be that you donate that PC to a museum
somewhere...

Although I have a Winkeyer USB now, I successfully operated LPT CW with
DX4Win years ago and it worked very well. I do not recall the specific
combination of Windows and Dx4Win versions, but I do remember that at some
rev level Paul added code for LPT port management via a PORTMAP.INI file in
the /SAVE directory.

I also do not remember how to inspect Windows 95 to check for assigned
addresses of your LPT ports (was there a Control Panel and Device Manager in
95?) . BUT when you figure that out you create a PORTMAP.INI file using
Notepad in /SAVE that might looks like this:

[LPTMAP]
LPT1=$E800
LPT2=
LPT3=$EC00

Hope this helps,

Subject: [Dx4win] DX4WIN not keying

More details and then some!

Interface: LPT-1
Win 95
DX4win; not Winkey

and then some: To compound the problem I read about a conflict with LPT
ports and Dx4WIN. I installed that software only to find out it was meant
for Win 7 users; not Win95 users.
Now DX4Win cannot find LPT1, 2 and 3.

What is mysterious to me is that I can hear my CW in the computer; but no
keying taking place.

Mumble, mumble, mumble..

give us more details. Do you try cw via LPT., COM or winkey? Interface?

[Dx4win] DX4WIN with Kenwood TS-990

2013-04-11 Thread George
I found that with my new Kenwood TS-990 that the rig file 'Kenwood ts2000'
works almost but. If course Paul has not updated the rig file to accommodate
the TS-990 as it is so new.
If I click on a spot and it is split the B vfo does not go to the proper
mode. It stays where is was previously.
Does anyone have any experience with editing the rig files in DX4WIN and
help me correct this.
Since there is no TS990 rig file I'm relegated to using the TS2000 rig file
and hoping to correct the split problem in this rig file.
I have the rig file opened in MS word but can't make heads or tails out of
it.
Is there a rig file primer out there somewhere, hi. :)
Thanks.
