Re: [Dx4win] Databases
Jim - thank you again many times for your incredible work on the country database and QSL manager database. I have found no reason to edit those files for years. Your database has to be the most comprehensive and accurate callsign database to be found! Those of us who use DX4Win are soo fortunate that we have access to your work. 73, John K9EL -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Jim Reisert AD1C Sent: Friday, November 24, 2017 1:54 PM To: Bruce Blackley Cc: DX4WIN Reflector Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Databases > I have had 9.03 for one week now and I have been exploring the > different menus to look for changes between 8.05 and 9.03. I read what I could find. Here is what is in the help file. I didn't see how to access these files. If I open the files directly, they are unreadable. Country Database · The country database is now split in two files; country.dat contains the callsign mappings, country information etc. A second file, usrexcpt.dat contains the exceptions (overrides) entered by the user. This applies to prefix/zones/date exceptions for a callsign, QSL manager information and QSL manager address. · Callsign exceptions and mappings in the country database have now a start- and end-date allowing multiple date ranges to be specified. · Counties have now coordinates ---Original Message--- From: Chris Sauvageot Date: 11/24/2017 10:32:10 AM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Databases Did you read the release notes?
