Yes, you should be able to do that.

You can install 9.04 in Demo mode. You will not be able to save QSOs
or print, but you can test importing your 8.0x settings into 9.0x.

[Dx4win] DX4Win and Yaesu FT100

2019-04-19 Thread Bob & Janet via DX4WIN
I want to get my old rig working with DX4Win so we can have 2 radios
going at an event coming up, but I can't get DX4Win to talk to the radio
which is the Yaesu FT100.  I'm sure I had it working a long time ago
(old version of DX4Win and old PC operating system), but choosing FT100
off the radio menu in preferences (V9.0.4) just times out.  Does anyone
have any tips that might help resolve the problem?

I have the correct RS232 mini-din plug
I have the default baud rate set to 4800
I have the right com port
I have tried various combinations of dtr and rts, but haven't found
anything that works.

Thanks

[Dx4win] Version 9

2019-04-19 Thread Luc
One question: When upgrading to version 9, can I also maintain the previous
version?
I have my labels set for me. Printer, could I use that configuration file
for version 9?
Greetings.

[Dx4win] Printing QSL Labels

2019-04-19 Thread Rory Bowers
Printing individual QSL labels was working just fine until the last
update. Now DX4Win tries to print all QSL labels. What changed?

It may not be a widespread problem and it does not affect many people or
maybe there is no solution to the problem.

Re: [Dx4win] I don't see DX4WIN reading the freq of my 7300

2019-04-19 Thread Randy Farmer
Be sure you have the program in "Add Real-time" mode (F9). The frequency
won't update otherwise. This one bites me all the time.

I'd get with someone who has a 7300 hooked up to DX4WIN (and the 7300 is a
VERY popular radio, so there has to be LOTS of folks with that
combination!) and compare configs. That said, does your radio really
support that baud rate of 115200? Mine does NOT, It only goes up to 38400..
And again, my setup (which of course is different, because it's for a Yaesu
FT DX 3000but some things remain constant between most radios/comm
ports/software logging apps) makes me wonder where you got some of the
numbers/config.Where did you get that address of 94 hex? Does your poll
rate (5000) match the poll rate in your radio menu? does your baud (115200)
match on ALL THREE PLACES: radio menu, DX4WIN (we see that it is what that
is set to) and also on the port on your laptop/computer? the key is
EVERYTHING has to matchthe settings in the radio menuthe settings
in DX4WINand any settings on the port you are attached to on the
computer/laptop. I'd check ALL three places...that things like baud rate,
comm port, poll rate (only applies to the radio and DX4WINnot the
computer port), DTR, RTSare all set to the SAME THING. For instance, my
radio requires RTS to be set to HIGH. And mine requires NOTHING to be
configured in the Address (where you have 94 Hex). Mine will only go to
38400.and i have all three places set to 38400the radio (via the
menu option), the port on the laptop AND DX4WIN (in preference). All three
places have to match...and can only be set to a rate that all three places
support.

Forgive me if the above was to "obvious", but I've learned in trouble
shooting over 40 years in the comm/IT business (and often...like this
case...with the proverbial "3000 mile screwdriver" as we say in the
business, because I'm not there to physically see your setup)...never
assume anything, no matter how obvious it may or may not be to one person
or the other! Again, get someone with a 7300 on the DX4WIN forum to share
settings.or check the things I mention.

Thanks. Sorry for the delayed response.

My setup

- Windows 10 64 bit, build 17763
- VSPE 64 bit v0.938.4.846, with license for 64 bit
- Band Master 1.6, perfect synch with the 7300
- WSJT-X 2.1.0, perfect synch with the 7300
- FL Digi 4.1.01, perfect synch with the 7300
- DXLab DX Commander 13.9.0, perfect synch with the 7300

DX4WIN 9.0.3.1160, not synching properly

Capture1 shows the settings of the RADIO control in DX4WIN, which are the
same as the other programs that are connecting to the 7300:
115,200/N/8/2/DTS=0/RTS=0

Capture2 shows the DX4WIN readout of the 7300 frequency. Note that the
secondary freq on 40 meters is correct (not in use when snip was taken).
The primary freq is haywire.

Capture3 shows the DX4WIN readout of the 7300 frequency 5 second after
Capture2. Note that the secondary freq on 40 meters is correct (not in use
when snip was taken). The primary freq is haywire.

The primary freq readout jumps back and forth between Capture2 and
Capture3.
