Re: [Dx4win] FT8 - DXCC
Another trick is to keep counting only ft8 modes (file>awards>dxcc>modes group - keep only ft8 from digi modes - uncheck rtty, psk, etc). This way you have only ft8 counts for digital dxcc and you can see your totals ...73 de Kostas SV1DPI (One of SZ1A-EP6T) Στις 2/1/2020 11:46 μ.μ., ο Jim Reisert AD1C έγραψε: On Thu, Jan 2, 2020 at 11:33 AM PY2YP wrote: I use the Group feature to do that. [Dx4win] CW Keyer
Hi, I want to hook up the cw keyer via a serial port. Had it working before, but new computer doesn't support Printer port. Have neuropathy in my hands, so need to use it sometimes. I see that N3FJP has one. Wondered if anyone used it. But the very first time you do this (ever), right-click on the Callsign/Mgr Lookup (F3) window and make sure that Automatic Update (at the bottom) is checked. This allows the window to update as you scroll through your log, as well as update when you are entering a new QSO. Once you check this setting, you'll never have to do it again. This is no automatic way to get that data into the logbook, however. You must click on the Update QSO button to do that. -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Compare DX4WIN Award Credit Status with LoTW (Logbook of the World)
Happy New Year! Many years ago, I wrote a utility to help you compare the DXCC credits granted to you by ARRL with the Checked DXCC credits in your DX4WIN log: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/lotw/ This is helpful if you have been using the Reports menu in DX4WIN to make DXCC submissions, following the Confirmed -> Submitted -> Checked model. For more information on how this works, see this now 10-year-old application note: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/dxcc.html If you are not using both DX4WIN and LoTW to maintain award credits for VUCC (VHF/UHF Century Club) or WPX (Worked All Prefixes), you can stop reading now. I am also working and submitting VUCC grid squares on 6 meters. Some time back, I tried to implement a way to compare VUCC award credits, hoping it would work the same way as DXCC (same utility). However, whereas ARRL lets you download an ADIF file with all your DXCC credits, it does not provide this same feature for VUCC. I did look into using this K1MU utility to download your VHF QSOs from LoTW to an ADIF file: http://www.rickmurphy.net/lotwquery.htm The ADIF file you download does include some VUCC award credits, but only those made using LoTW confirmations. Any paper QSLs you sent in for VUCC credit are NOT listed in the downloaded file. If you have submitted both QSLs and LotW confirmations for VUCC credit, that's not very useful. Still, there is a way to get a list of all the VUCC Grids that have been credited to your ARRL award account, from the LoTW website, that includes both paper QSL and LoTW confirmations, but it's not as straightforward as simply clicking on a link to download a file. Yesterday, I updated the Compare DX4WIN to LoTW utility to support comparing VUCC credits. I intend to release this update no later than the weekend of January 11/12, 2020. I hope that others find it useful. I have a bunch of VUCC award credits to fix in DX4WIN to make things match. Of course, there will be detailed instructions on how to download the list of VUCC credits from LoTW in a form that the utility accepts. The reason for this long message is that I could add similar functionality for the CQ WPX award, because you can use LoTW to submit confirmations for the WPX award. It would work in a way similar to VUCC. If no one wants this, then I won't bother to add this additional functionality to the utility. If you *do* want this, please let me know. I'll probably need a copy of your log and your LoTW WPX credits in order to debug the changes, because I have never applied for a WPX award. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Using F8, search your log for Mode=FT8. Then use File | Import/Export to export the search results to an ADIF file. Use File | New in DX4WIN to create a new, empty log file. Give it a temporary name, definitely NOT the same name as your main logbook. Then import those FT8 QSOs from the previous step into this new log. From there, you can do a DXCC report to see how many DXCC entities you have worked on FT8. The same goes for FT4, but for the F8 search, you need to search for Mode=MFSK and Submode=FT4. If you want to see combined DXCC statistics for both FT4 and FT8, export the QSOs made with those two modes separately, then import both FT4 and FT8 ADIF files into the same empty DX4WIN log. 73 - Jim AD1C __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Hello Skip, The Automatic Update feature updates the info displayed in the Callsign/Mgr Lookup window as you scroll through the log. Hit to display the window. Make sure your user name and password are entered in File > Preferences > Ext Data and you have Online Callsign lookup enabled. The proper URL for QRZ lookup should be pre-loaded into the address windows. -- 73, Mike Cizek W0VTT -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Mike Newey Sent: Thursday, January 02, 2020 12:12 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Mailing list submission Hello This is my first time on here and as a new user of dx4win I am still learning.
