[Dx4win] Hello, friend!

[Dx4win] Correcting LOG errors
I have about 25 Log entries in DX4Win ver 8.05 that have an error between the BAND data and the FREQ(Khz) box data. For example: QSO says it was a 20M cw qso but the FREQ box reads 1,815.50. Should I assume the FREQ box is correct since it reads directly from the radio and I need to change the BAND data to reflect the proper Band Info? Which would most likely be correct? I cant remember but I would like to clean this up. Actually it was first noticed when I imported my DX4Win Log into DX Lab. (confirmed that the errors are indeed in the DX4Win Log however) Thanks Larry K1UO __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Radio timeouts with Ver8.05 and Win 7/64
I am having all sorts of problems with radio timeouts with my DX4Win logging program... I have a K3 and use LP-Bridge to interface with other programs I.E. N1MM, MMTTY, and my DX4Win Logger. I have an I7 machine, 8mb ram and running Win 7/64 Pro. I have installed 4 serial and one parallel port via plug in PCI cards. After trying numerous port configs, speeds and retry numbers, in the DX4Win parameters, I still cannot stop these radio timeouts that are occuring randomly for no apparent reason as nothing is happening just RXing at the time. All the close window X buttons light up red all at the same time and the next thing that happens is the radio timeout box pops up. I can find no port or IRQ conflicts. Does anyone have this operating ok with Win7/64.Im thinking maybe to go back to my Win XP/Pro and make life simpler for myself! 73 Larry k1UO __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Radio timeouts with Ver8.05 and Win 7/64
Hi Pete, I have the computer power management set to Never for everything. On the Comm port I have for the radio ( Com 5) the power management had nothing checked ...I checked the allow this program to wake the computer just to try thatshould I have done that? Also I checked the port parameters to make sure they matched the K3 and they were fine at 8N1 and 38400. I cant find a way to set the LP-Bridge virtual port speed but this has never been a problem with Win XP. Its almost like port conflicts or data collisions but I cant find where or why! Ive turned off all other programs that interface via LP-Bridge and still get the timeouts... I wonder if its something to do with the connected P3 Panadapter? [Dx4win] Ver 8.05 and Green Heron rotor controller
I am, as usual, having just a TAD bit of trouble understanding how the DX4Win rotor control Tab is supposed to work. I can manually get the DX4Win rotor page to turn the Green Heron Controller for my M2 ORION 2800 rotor but shouldnt the ROTOR Parameters be filled in automatically when I click on a spot? I am using Win7/64 and clicking on a spot in DX4Win loads the band parameters, mode etc into the logging screen from the Elecraft K3 connected to DX4Win via LP-Bridge virtual port. However the Band info and beam heading information from the spot I click on is not being transferred to the DX4Win rotor screen? Isnt it supposed to be? The Green Heron rotor controller is connected to the PC via a direct serial port connection (serial port 2) and this is the port I defined in the DX4Win rotor parameters. I tried controlling the rotor from DX4Win via another virtual port in LP-Bridge but this didnt work either. Manually I can enter in beam headings, and the proper Band that is enabled for a rotor, in the DX4Win rotor screen then hit F11 and the rotor turns but I cant get DX4Win to populate the rotor and Band info automatically by clicking on a spot. Is all this clear as mud yet? Thanks for any help Larry K1UO __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Ver 8.05 and Green Heron rotor controller
Maybe I can explain this a bit clearer. When I click on a spot in the Packet field of DX4Win Ver 8.05 it populates the logging field with CALL, MODE, BAND and also the Beam Heading of the station automatically. HOWEVER, nothing happens at all in the DX4Win ROTOR TAB section where the Band Info and Beam Headings stay at the defaults of 160 meters DISABLED and 0 degrees. I have enabled the Bands of 40-6 meters to be rotor controlled (set to NORMAL in the Window) in the ROTOR Tab section of DX4Win. I have set the port to the directly connected port of Com2 and I set the port speed to 4800 8-N-1 per suggestion from Green Heron. I can manually plug in beam heading info or change the Band to an enabled rotor band in the ROTOR Tab section and manually cause the rotor to turn ok but shouldnt DX4Win populate the fields from the spot I clicked on? Maybe thats a bit better explanation. Thanks for any help... maybe someone can at least verify that the ROTOR Tab does get populated from the spot window when clicking on a specific station. __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
