[Dx4win] Backup
I would like to know how to backup the log from V707.02 to a USB memory stick? [Dx4win] Filter Selection
V. 705.04. I have 9 group names entered in filter selection. Problem is when I bring it up I cannot move the slider button. Only 5 show in the window and that is it. The side slider will not move. The OS is Vista. Must be a bug. KI0F___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] Import
When I select Edit Group names. The side slide works just fine. But when I go to filter/ selection the slide will not work at all. Maybe it is not suppose to work. I gather If I want the contest to be stamped on import with that name I have to select that contest from the selection drop down. This I cannot do. I can change the group tab in qso preference but only to a single number not 001 or 002 which I have listed in the edit group names. [Dx4win] IMPORT
Version 7.05.04. I have selections for different contest set in the selection box. Question is how do I get the contest name on the imported qso list when I bring it in from Writelog? I export out of Writelog in the adif format. Send it to a stand alone file and import from there into dx4win. How do I get the list to change from 000 ( all qso's). I cannot seem to get the highlight to change from 000. I know it is simple but the old boy is having problems. [Dx4win] Omni VII
I am having BIG problems with Vista and Omni VII working with Dx4win; Anyone out there with an Omni VII using Dx4win? I also have a Microham keyer. I would like to run Psk and use the program to its full extent but cannot. I am only using only a small portion for what I paid for. Any help out there? [Dx4win] Omni VII
I am having problems with Dx4win Version 7.05o4. OS is vista. Micro keyer version 7.1.5.11250. I can read the freq and mode on the router just fine. I updated a radio file from N5NA for the Omni VII.in to the radio folder in Dx4win. I still cannot read band or mode. Seems it is not talking to one another. Any help out there on how to get the Micro ham router and software Dx4win to talk to one another? Rog KI0F___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] Omni VII
Anyone out there who runs an Omni VII and vista? Seems there is not a drop down list for the Omni VII. I want to know what info you use for the radio setup. I use Dx4win version 7.05.04 Thanks in advance. Rog KI0F___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] Band change
I am running home vista 32 bit with Dx4win 7.05.03. I have no rig with the software. When I try to change bands in the qso window the drop down list only gives me a few bands. There is no slider to work with. I have the set band at 160 in the preference/qso window. Any one of you with vista had this problem? [Dx4win] Group Names
Still have problems with group names. Running vista with Dx4win 7.013.16. I cannot find the group names. In the QSO window under filters/sections all I get is current selection (all QSOs) Under QSO window filters/ edit group names get blank. Any answers out there. I would like to use the names for my contest. F1 just brings up the help menu. Each contest I work is assigned a group number. So using F8 and the Group Number I am able to isolate all the QSO's from a particular contest. One of the advantages of this is for QSL request when I am unable to find the claimed contact by searching on the other station call sign. Then I am able to at least narrow down the log to the contest and search through that. There are many different reasons for not finding the call in my log, from miscopied on my part or needing to decipher the call on the QSL call that was used during the contests. By narrowing the log down to the specific contest I have been successful in either finding these contacts or verifying they definitely are not in the log. Sure I could search by date and time, but those aren't always correct either. Then if the request is from 15 years ago the search on time date will bring up 15 years of contacts. Hope this helps, Bill AC0W Dave Sharred [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi All; I maybe missed the point, but I really wonder what you guys are doing to even think about running out of Group numbers. I don't understand anyone's need really to group by year or by contest; since you would still need to do a search operation (F8) to filter by Group. You might as well do a search by date in that case. I use Groups in my main log to differentiate from G3NKC and G3NKC/P, and I think I set up GQ3NKC - so call sign variants. For my GD contest operations, I currently hold separate logs for GD0EMG, MD6V, and MD4K; even though I have been thinking about the merits of merging those logs (might be nice to see a complete DXCC achievement, for instance); but I often think these would be outweighed by the overhead when doing the QSLling chores (when someone requests a card, I normally QSL all QSO's with our particular contest call. I might end up selecting QSL's for all call's; meaning I have 3 labels that would have to go on 3 cards). ON balance I think those logs will stay separate. 73 Dave G3NKC -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of John Balsillie Sent: 15 February 2008 23:06 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: RE: [Dx4win] Multiple QSOs change on QSO NOTES - Group Numbers Hi Bill, I'm not sure how you allocate your group numbers. I started giving a number to every contest, IE CQ WPX CW,2005,2006,2007 ETC and could see I would fast run out of numbers. On a suggestion from a local user I now only have one number for each contest and use the same number each year. Its a simple matter to filter by year or mode as and when you require. This has reduced my groups considerably. I just wish we were allowed more than 254 group numbers. At my present rate I will have all 254 numbers used by CQ WPX CW this year. When that happens I will have to look at other options to accomplish this or look at different software that will do what I want.
