Version 2.0 released

I have released version 2.0 of the program to convert a DX4WIN NPOTA
Award Listing to Single Page spreadsheet:

   http://dx4win.ad1c.us/NPOTA/

If you already have the program installed, you should be able to use
the Update button to download the new version.

Version 2.0 has several major changes:

1. The output is now in native Microsoft Excel 1997-2003 (.XLS) format.
Most spreadsheet programs should be able to read the output.

2. The output is in color, though it should still print OK on a
black-and-white printer:

   * NPOTA units that are confirmed will have a green background
   * NPOTA units that are worked but not confirmed will have a red
background

3. The state(s) is listed alongside the NPOTA unit ID. This should
make it easier
to determine whether a station that has been spotted can be worked
from your station,
given the band and time of day.

If you have not used this program before, please read the
documentation completely. It should answer any questions you may
have.

*** NOTE ***: When running version 2.0 for the first time, you may get
a System Error message regarding one or more missing .dll files.
Please go to the Installation section of the URL above and follow the
instructions for installing the needed library.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the program or the
documentation.

I'd like to clean up the country file web site a bit. I plan to
delete all the DX4WIN country file releases from years:

- 2012
- 2013
- 2014

Older versions have already been removed. If you need a particular
version, I still have copies of all of them.

Because the country file releases are cumulative, i.e. the latest
country file contains all previous updates, does anyone see the need
to keep more than the last few releases around?

I've released DX4WIN Data Updater v. 7.01. The release notes are below.

I recommend that if you have installed a previous version, that you
uninstall it, from the Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features).
This will not remove your custom settings. Then install the latest
version of the program:

   http://dx4win.ad1c.us/updater/#history

There have been extensive changes, mostly in the area of error
checking. If you have any problems during the installation, or with
running the program itself, please let me know ASAP.

Here are the release notes:

7.01 - 19 March 2015
   * Bug fix: ignore corrupt DX4WUPD.INI (settings) file
   * Bug fix: use all possible methods for checking if DX4WIN is running
   * Bug fix: last line in DX4WIN.TCP (DX cluster nodes) wasn't being
added. Apologies to ZS6RO
   * Bug fix: direct all internal errors to a pop-up error message window
   * Feature: real Windows installation program
   * Feature: Update button is disabled until the user chooses at
least one data file to update
   * Other: -help and -version options work on the command line (again)
   * Other: BIG code cleanup (Perl Best Practices, etc.)

There is still at least one user out there who is having problems. I'm
hoping that this new version will bring those problems into the light,
so they can be solved.

I just released a new version of this program:

   http://software.ad1c.us/W1AW/

Here are the changes:

Ver. 1.0 - May 2014
States are sorted alphabetically by name instead of abbreviation
Only print month, day to spreadsheet (not year)
Printed date could be off-by-1 in some cases
   Summary statistics printed at end
   Added support for KG4, KH2, KP2 and KP4
Get state abbreviation from COMMENT ADIF field in N1MM
If output filename not specified, same as input file name but with
CSV extension (suffix)

Please send me any bug reports, feature requests, etc. I may or may
not turn this into a real Windows program, depending on how much free
time I have (hah!).

Hi,

I'm looking for a few people to test out a program I just wrote:

   http://software.ad1c.us/W1AW/

This program extracts the W1AW QSOs from your log and outputs them in
spreadsheet format. Here is an example of the output:

   http://software.ad1c.us/W1AW/W1AW_AD1C.pdf

The program is "quick and dirty" and runs in a Windows "Command
Prompt" instead of through a real Windows GUI. So its not for the
faint of heart.

Let me know if you have any problems running it. I don't know if I'll
ever build a real GUI for it, I really wanted to get something
together quickly for myself, as some of the the W1AW/# states are
starting to repeat.

My preference to use MMTY as stand alone and cut/paste the worked station
