[Dx4win] A plea for more Multiple QSO Operations
An earlier logging program that I used (LogPlus) had the facility to add a line to any imported QSOs from a contest, at the import stage. I used this to say CQWW Test etc. in the notes for this QSO field and it then appeared on all the QSOs imported. No I don't want to use the group numbers for this as I already use them for my different calls and this works very well. Surely this would be an easy addition to the import routine. Please, please. A very tedious task consisting of three finders to Shift-Insert followed by F10. Multiple QSO Operations are already permitted on set group number set confirmed set USA states set QSL date and set mode Since the above are already coded it probably would not be too difficult to add set Notes for This QSO. Best if it added to any existing note. This would eliminate much tedium for those of us who routinely import or merge large numbers of QSO's. Yes, you're right, it is tedious, but I don't do it this way. There's a better way. When I import a contest log, I assign it a unique group number. Then I go to Group Selections and create a name for that group. If you then open the Same Call window, the group name is displayed along with the QSO information. I have used 72 groups so far, so only have 182 left (256 - 72 - 2 (YL/QRP)). 73 - Jim AD1C --- Larry Alkoff [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have just completed pasting info Notes for This QSO nearly 2000 strings consisting of 2002 ARRL CW DX Contest. Which brings to mind a problem for those of us who use group numbers for contesting - 255 is a low limit for long term usage. Maybe a future update could raise this limit? 73 dink, n7wa At 06:46 AM 2/22/02 -0800, you wrote: I have used 72 groups so far, so only have 182 left (256 - 72 - 2 (YL/QRP)).

It's easy enough to modify the ADIF file exported from whatever contest program you are using to include a comment. The ADIF format specifies eor at the end of each record in the ADIF file. Just use a text editor to do a find and replace on eor. You would set it up to find eor then replace with comment:232002 ARRL CW DX Contesteor Then import the modified ADIF into DX4WIN. The comment field will place 2002 ARRL CW DX Contest in the Notes For This QSO field. The number after comment: is the length of the field. 73, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: Jim Reisert [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Larry Alkoff [EMAIL PROTECTED]; dx4win dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Friday, February 22, 2002 8:46 AM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] A plea for more Multiple QSO Operations Yes, you're right, it is tedious, but I don't do it this way.
