[Dx4win] AR.

2019-09-20 Thread Ernie Walls
Sometimes I think the hobby is ‘amateur computer’ not amateur radio, as 80% of
discussion on most outlets is about computerisation rather than ‘pure’ radio.
Progress, I suppose.

[Dx4win] AR USER loopback instructions

2003-09-17 Thread Don Currier
Hello All,

I just realized that I made a mistake in my original post of instructions
for setting up a loopback port for AR USER.

In my original post, my step one should have read:

Click on configuration, then click on ports. Make sure that under local
user, Telnet is checked. (Not TNC is checked, as I originally wrote.)

Sorry for the mistake.

[Dx4win] AR USER loopback instructions

2003-09-16 Thread Don Currier
I've had a request to post instructions on how to do a local loopback from
AR USER to DX4WIN...here they are.

1. In AR USER, click on configuration, then on ports. Make sure that under
Local Network, TNC is checked.

2. Edit the DX4WIN file dx4win.tcp and add the following
address 127.0.0.0:7300

Start AR USER, and connect to your local cluster.

Start DX4WIN, and in the packet window, connect to 127.0.0.0:7300 (this is
the local telnet loopback port)
The spots from AR USER should now be flowing through to DX4WIN.

That's all there is to it.

Enjoy

[Dx4win] AR vs. CLX

2002-01-05 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C

Using this pattern, spots emanating from Arizona will NOT be listed in the
spot window when connected to an AR Cluster node. Only AZ spots are so
affected (apparently). I have no idea as to why it only affects AZ spots.

I can guess.

Usually the last field in the spot is the time, i.e. 1817z. One cluster
package (CLX?) puts the STATE of the spotting station in the output too,
AFTER the GMT field, i.e. it ends like:

.. 1817z AZ

I guess this must confuse DX4WIN.
