Look if it isn?t a RF problem Paul,
Most Computers don?t like RF on the serials
Putting a ferriet beat on the serial cable close
To the PC might help or try with another computer
To see if the problem remains

Onderwerp: [Dx4win] Com port needing reset?
I am using DX4WIN version 6.04 with Windows XP and an ICOM 756 Pro
II.
The Pro II is connected to the computer thru a homemade CI-V
interface on COM3.
I recently added my SteppIR control box to CI-V bus and
turned on the "Transceive" option in the Pro II. This configuration
works, but a few times the radio interface has stopped working thru
DX4WIN. "Start Radio" will not get it going again. The Pro II is
still sending out data because the SteppIR continues to track the
radio.
When the problem occurs, I have terminated DX4WIN and brought up the
free program "Commander" to see if a different program can use the
Com port to work with the CI-V interface. Commander does not
communicate with the Pro II after the problem occurs. If I reboot XP,
things are working again.
Anyone have a suggestion as to what is causing this problem?

Paul
