Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN not keying
Mike, You mention Windows 95, but not which version of Dx4Win? 95? My first suggestion would be that you donate that PC to a museum somewhere... Although I have a Winkeyer USB now, I successfully operated LPT CW with DX4Win years ago and it worked very well. I do not recall the specific combination of Windows and Dx4Win versions, but I do remember that at some rev level Paul added code for LPT port management via a PORTMAP.INI file in the /SAVE directory. I also do not remember how to inspect Windows 95 to check for assigned addresses of your LPT ports (was there a Control Panel and Device Manager in 95?) . BUT when you figure that out you create a PORTMAP.INI file using Notepad in /SAVE that might looks like this: [LPTMAP] LPT1=$E800 LPT2= LPT3=$EC00 Hope this helps, -larry (K8UT) -Original Message- From: Mike Bragassa Sent: Tuesday, April 09, 2013 7:58 PM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] DX4WIN not keying More details and then some! Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN not keying
I don't think i can help a lot. I used LPT keying a lot of years ago. Maybe it is better to make a com interface. Anyway it seems that your cw works but ptt doesn't work. For some radios (yaesu for example) activating vox is a solution. I am not sure how dx4win controls ptt via LPT port. I know also that LPT port has some (mysterious to me) setting in computer's bios. Maybe you can experiment there also. Anyone with experience in win95 and LPT keying out there??? Good luck 73 Kostas, SV1DPI Στις 10/4/2013 02:58, ο/η Mike Bragassa έγραψε: More details and then some!
