Operator was none other than G5RV!

K1JB was the QSL manager for the VK9LV DXpedition in 1989. This is a
shortcoming in the DX4WIN QSL manager database, I'll try to fix it. I
think your chances of getting a QSL now are slim.

Re: [Dx4win] Fw: [Dx-qsl] QUESTION ABOUT OLDIES

2011-10-09 Thread James G. Dean
QRZ.com lists VK9LV for JS Blinick, K1JS. A check of the DXCC Deleted
Countries lists shows that the prefixes P2, VK9, were used for both Papua
Territory and Territory of New Guinea for contacts before and up to
September 15, 1975. I suggest that Bill email Joseph Blinick and ask if he
can clarify the situation. QRZ.com gives his email as k1jb(at)maine.rr.com.

[Dx4win] Fw: [Dx-qsl] QUESTION ABOUT OLDIES

2011-10-09 Thread Kostas Stamatis
As you can read below (in an email from another list), someone asked what is
the entity of a call. Richard,,K5NA, replied first that according dx4win,
the right entity is
I don't know if this answer is right or not. Ofcourse dx4win's database has
mistakes. But this is the biggest advantage of dx4win, because of the great
work Jim, AD1C, has done and contniue to do. Dx4win's database is considered
as a standard, and not only from us, dx4win users. Other logging programs
have features dx4win has not. I wish it will have (as an automated way to
upload in lotw with the press of one button, for example). But the most
important for a logging program is, first to keep your qsos safe and second
says what dxcc entity really a call is. And these two things dx4win do very
well or better thatn every other program i know. Thank you Jim and please
Paul keep updating and doing better this wonderful program.
