[Dx4win] Logging Time

2006-03-16 Thread Wendell Wyly - W5FL
The HELP file says the time is calculated from the time zones you put in the
Windows operating system.

My computer is on local time and the log is GMT and it automatically updates
for Daylight Savings Time. In earlier versions you had some additional
controls on time, but the present implementation (V7) seems to do it
automatically. Judging by some of the time and date problems in very old
paper logs, this is worth the price of the program alone!!!

Is there a way to offset the log time from the computer clock so I can
run the computer on local time, and log in GMT?

There is no need to do anything special, it just works.

Thanks to all who replied. As everyone pointed out, it just works,
because that is the way it is designed.

After all these years of setting up computers, I finally have been shown
the mistake I have been making. I managed to defeat the system by
setting the computer to local time, and then setting my time zone as
CST, in my general use computers.

To get the logging computers to log in GMT, I set the computer time to
GMT, and then set the time zone to GMT. That of course set the time to
non CST time for any other program that needed to know the local time,
which is what prompted the question.
