Hi Mark,

Click on Window then make sure there's a check-mark next to Master
Calls. It should show up.

How do I get the Master Calls window to appear again?

License file appeared lightning fast, and install went easy!

[Dx4win] Master Calls and Membership databases updated 1 February 2015

2015-01-31 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I updated the Master Callsign and Membership databases for DX4WIN on 1
February 2015:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/data/calldata.html

It's easiest to use the DX4WIN Data Updater to update them:

The procedure works exactly the way I wrote it. You must have missed
this line contained in step 4 of "Converting the master calls for
DX4WIN"

"Note that if you are converting a text file, it will not show in the
file browser, but you can still type in the name by hand:"

[Dx4win] Master Calls listing import

2009-02-08 Thread Karl Oyster
Hi, Guys

I was trying to fire up the master calls window in D4W and found
that there's a step missing in the instructions, which read:

"If you want to use all the calls stored in your own log, the
steps are simple:
  1. Export your log using the 'calls' filter

  2. Save the file somewhere, and call it calls.txt

  3. From the PopUp menu in the Master Calls window select
'Convert'

  4. When asked for the file to convert, select the file you
created in step 2

Master call PopUp Menu

Convert

Convert file to Master log format

You will be prompted for a file containing callsigns. The file
will be scanned for callsigns and all calls found will be sorted
and duplicates will be removed. The resulting file, DX4WIN.MAS,
will be stored in the DX4WIN directory."

Note the calls.txt in step #2 above. Nothing happened
when I tried to do it this way because the program needs to see
"master.dta", an easily enough accomplished thing (change the name
of the file before you try to 'convert'). Not really all that
difficult, but a step 2A ("change the file name to "master.dta")
would surely have increased the speed with which it is
accomplished.

Didn't think I'd EVER get to the point where I could make a legit
complaint about software AND HAVE THE ANSWER TO IT MYSELF
Think I'll go have some pizza!!
