One thing I was disappointed in ver 8 was that these odd, non-standard D4W spellings for modes didn't go away. Which ones specifically? I tried to get Paul to match the ADIF mode names from: http://www.adif.org/adif223.htm#Mode%20Enumeration Maybe there's a mismatch in the translation from old V7 names to new V8 names.
