I used ubuntu-11.10-server-amd64.iso image to create the VM.
I select:

* Storage / SATA Controller / SATA Port 0: Ubuntu.vdi (Normal, 8.00GB)
During the ubuntu installation, I select the default configuration except:
* I select ssh server and PostgreSQL installation (I think PostgreSQL is not
required as there is a dependency in our deb package)
* I download the jdk-6u29-linux-x64.bin from the Oracle website (what a boring
site!)
* I start this installer
* I copy the jdk1.6.0_29 into the /usr/lib/jvm directory
* I executed these following actions

Even I click several times on the button, I don't reproduce the problem.
Just a note. I create a VirtualBox VM on VirtualBox 4.1.8 r75467.
I used ubuntu-11.10-server-amd64.iso image to create the VM.
I select:
* OS type: Ubuntu (64 bits)
* Base Memory: 2048
* Storage / SATA Controller / SATA Port 0: Ubuntu.vdi (Normal, 8.00GB)
During the ubuntu installation, I select the default configuration except:
* I select ssh server and PostgreSQL installation (I think PostgreSQL is not
required as there is a dependency in our deb package)
* I download the jdk-6u29-linux-x64.bin from the Oracle website (what a boring
site!)
* I start this installer
* I copy the jdk1.6.0_29 into the /usr/lib/jvm directory

* I click on the Create button
* I wait a long time (upload time)
* My document is created.
I just want to notice that I have also no trouble with OpenJDK...

looking like there is a 100MB limit, is this correct? and how can i change

I'm using Nuxeo 5.5 on Ubuntu 11.10 64bit in virtualbox 3 cores with 6GB ram
* i did make a clean instal from Ubuntu-server 11.10 64bits
* installed sun-java6-jdk (no openjdk)
* installing Nuxeo

I used ubuntu-11.10-server-amd64.iso image to create the VM.
I select:

* I configure the network as Bridged adapter
During the ubuntu installation, I select the default configuration except:

Indeed the overriding vs merging stuff is to complex for many of the Studio
users, I think.
Furthermore, so far the remove instruction is probably not on all the
extension descriptors. At least, the frequent usecases for overriding would be
for (those who would need this instruction):
- document types
- layouts
- result layouts
- lifecycle
- content template (Structure template)
- mail notification
