Re: [ECOLOG-L] Best source for gridded radiation data?
Global solar radiation can be found here. I think they are monthly grids. Scroll down and look carefully and you will see it. http://www.cgiar-csi.org/data/climate/item/51-global-aridity-and-pet-database Cheers, Keith ** Keith Larson, PhD Student Evolutionary Ecology, Lund University Sölvegatan 37 223 62 LUND Sweden Phone: +46 (0)46 2229014 Mobile: +46 (0)73 0465016 Fax: +46 (0)46 2224716 Skype: sternacaspia FB: keith.w.lar...@gmail.com ** On Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 10:23 PM, Neahga Leonard naturalistkni...@gmail.com wrote: I don't know if this helps, but WorldClim has some interesting GIS layers. http://www.worldclim.org/download Neahga Leonard On Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 4:04 PM, Jonathan Greenberg greenb...@ucdavis.eduwrote: Folks: I'm trying to hunt down daily or monthly gridded radiation data at 4km or better resolution for North America (and, preferably, the world). Re: [ECOLOG-L] Best source for gridded radiation data?
I don't think you'll have much luck finding radiation data at those spatial and temporal resolutions. For observed data, the best resolution that I know of is 32km and only for North America (http://dss.ucar.edu/pub/narr/). The spatial resolutions of most historical global datasets are measured in degrees, not kilometers. The National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) probably has some pretty good data, but I don't believe they have those freely available. -Phil From: Jonathan Greenberg greenb...@ucdavis.edu To: ECOLOG-L@LISTSERV.UMD.EDU Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2011 4:04 PM Subject: [ECOLOG-L] Best source for gridded radiation data?
