Dear all Just an update on IsoEcol 2018 (www.isoecol.com/2018<http://www.isoecol.com/2018>) aka 11th International Conference on the Applications of Stable Isotope Techniques to Ecological Studies (IsoEcol 2018). The first IsoEcol to be held in South America, the conference will take place between 30 July and 3 August 2018 at the Universidad Andrés Bello, Viña del Mar, Chile.
Abstracts are flying in, but in the last days we have received many, many requests for extensions to the abstract submission deadline (originally 1 March). We understand the pain involved in getting a great abstract together, so after discussion, have decided to extend the submission deadline until midnight (Chilean summer time) 15 March 2015. See here for abstract submission: http://isoecol.com/2018/IsoEcol2018_Abstracts_Registration.html In other news, we will soon have details online regarding specialist isotope workshops that will be held in the weekends before and after the main meeting. To date we have one confirmed (Simulation modelling in isotope ecology, kindly led by Clive Trueman), and will have details of others (invasion ecology, human ecology, Bayesian modelling in R and use of SIA in Forensics) in the next days. If you are an isotope ecologist or are using stable isotopes in an associated field (oceanography, environmental science, archaeology etc) then this is the meeting for you! Like previous IsoEcol meetings, IsoEcol 2018 will bring together an exciting global mix of researchers at different career stages from universities, industry and government with common interests in the development and application of stable isotope techniques to the ecological sciences.
