Jobadvertisement for a *University Lectureship in Plant Ecology* at Lund University, Sweden. The application deadline is 28 February 2018.The position is advertised at:

https://lu.mynetworkglobal.com/en/what:job/jobID:177838/type:job/where:4/apply:1

Please circulate the advert to as many of your contacts as possible. We are eager to attract a strong field of applicants!

The Department of Biology wishes to strengthen research and teaching at the interface between plant community ecology and evolutionary biology, with a focus on terrestrial plants. We are advertising a fully tenured position which will include both teaching and research. The Biology Department in Lund is a large and internationally visible department, has excellent facilities and is a good working place!

There is currently a strong interest in extending studies of evolutionary processes beyond single organisms, or interactions between a small number of organisms, to a more realistic community-based context. Rapid developments within genomics provide increasingly accessible means of characterizing molecular variation with plant communities – and these developments are driving a closer integration of ecological and evolutionary studies. We want to appoint a person with strong competence within the field of terrestrial plant community ecology and a focus on the ecological and evolutionary processes that drive community assembly and biodiversity. Experience in field-based teaching in floristics and vegetation analysis will be regarded a strong merit.

The official Swedish translations of the names of different academic positions are a bit wild. Although the advert reads as though we are advertising for a clearly senior person, younger applicants whose research profiles are well-fitted to the subject description in the advert shouldn’t hesitate to apply.

*Important notes*

1) For an application to be valid, the Science Faculty administration requires that _all_ the specified documentation (even though it may seem somewhat over-the-top!) is included in the application.

2) Applications will be evaluated on the basis of/in relation to the job-description as worded in the formal advertisement.
