--- PLEASE POST WIDELY ---

The Forest Ecology Group at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) offers a PhD position that will focus on estimating future forest structure and productivity in the light of global change with an emphasis on increasing drought risks.

The project will build upon the widely used LPJ-GUESS model, and the student will test the model against long-term data from various sources (e.g. forest reserve data, tree ring data), focusing on the model's ability to represent stand structural attributes along strong climatic gradients in Switzerland. For model improvement, the focus will be on the growth-mortality relationship of trees.

I apologize for possible cross-postings.
