ekiga/opal support RFC4103?

Thanks

Yes, of course not. It was a simple error in transposing the list address into

[Ekiga-devel-list] git master and audio latency

2010-02-08 Thread Brian J. Murrell
I'm using git master and have been noticing the latency with ekiga and
my PBX's echo test are quite high. Very audible. For contrast, any
of the ATA or IP connected phones around here has very little or no
audible latency.

FWIW, this is even when I am using ALSA devices directly.

[Ekiga-devel-list] closing lid on laptop suspends it

2010-02-08 Thread Brian J. Murrell
I have a Toshiba Tecra M9 laptop running a 2.6.31 kernel.

I'm not even sure if this is really the correct list, but if not,
hopefully somebody can give me a gentle shove in the right direction.

The problem I'm having with this laptop is that once it has booted up,
prior to logging into the gnome desktop, if I (open if not already
opened and then) close the lid, it suspends, even when plugged into AC.

If I log into gnome, my gnome-power-manager preferences are applied and
closing the lid with AC plugged in only blanks the screen, it does not
suspend the laptop.

Additionally, after this suspend-on-lid-close operation, I get the
following complaints on the kernel message buffer:

Feb 8 12:33:58 brian-laptop kernel: [14735.616976] NVRM: rm_init_adapter(0)
failed
Feb 8 12:34:03 brian-laptop kernel: [14739.756068] NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed!

Feb 8 12:34:03 brian-laptop kernel: [14739.756075] NVRM: rm_init_adapter(0)

Feb 8 12:34:07 brian-laptop kernel: [14744.044665] NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed!

Feb 8 12:34:11 brian-laptop kernel: [14748.200786] NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed!
(0x26:0x38:1096)

and the graphic display is no longer working. The above of course may
or may not be related, but might just be a casualty of some other
problem. I just offer it in hopes that it provides more clue as to what
is going on.

Thots?

[Ekiga-list] account question

2009-03-25 Thread Brian Silberbauer
Hi

I''m not sure whether this is the right list to post to, but its the
only one I've found - please forward if its not the right list.

I created an account a while back with ekiga.net and am struggling to
login via ekiga. I suspect it is because I have an inverted comma (')
in the password and I've tried resetting my password via the web site,
but the password authentication fails online too.

Would it be possible to reset my password?

My username is brian.silberbauer

I have sent a mail to accounts, but it was unclear whether anybody is
monitoring the account.

Great work BTW, very nice app.

Re: [Ekiga-list] Cannot answer calls (no popup window)

2009-02-07 Thread Brian

Hi,
I have the same setup opensuse 11.1 and ekiga 3.0.1 and get the same
problem.

The difference in my case is that it varies,
1) I have had the popup occur click on it and answer the call as normal.
2) The ring occurs and no popup
3) the ring occurs and it is ringing for an extended time and then the pop
occurs.

I have never seen the notification box in the tray.
Is there a setting for this?
To be clear I do have the icon in the tray which normally shows a green
circle.

When I answer a call it shows a set of headphones.
Is it supposed to show something else?

Thanks,

My guess is that Ekiga has been compiled with libnotify support, but for

you to a solution.

Hi Damien, and thanks for the response.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I had already tried the terminal, and
running

ekiga in debug mode(s) also, but didn't see anything suspicious (lots of
messages related to ALSA and the video, but nothing that looked like it
could

be related to this when I receive a call).

Additionally, I just finished a new opensuse 11.1 installation in a
laptop

and the same thing happens yet again! I did it mostly because both of the
previous installations were done in 64 bits processors and I wanted to
try
with the 32 bit version of the distribution. No difference. Btw, one of
the

ekiga installations was downloaded -as binaries- from ekiga.org, so I am
pretty sure the problem has to be related to Suse's system installation,
not

ekiga itself.

I am very puzzled by the fact that nobody else has reported this here
or in

SuSE forums. If I have managed to find this problem in 3 out of 3
installations with different hardware somebody else must have seen it
with
this distribution. I have found reports of people who have it working,
though.

Anyway, I'll keep trying.

Thanks again.

I have had the situatiion where I restart ekiga immediately and the port

So I thought, wait abit and it will recover. It does not.
Shut ekiga down, wait for the port timeout and restart.
There may be a better way to do this.

[Ekiga-list] Suse 11.1 Compile problems

2009-01-10 Thread Brian

All,
This thread is an attempt to document compile problems on SUSE 11.1

As mentioned in previous emails one of my main problems has been that the
compile goes looking for libs in /opt/gnome/lib when all libs seem to be
put into /usr/lib now.

I managed to get a compile done using this.

$ ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-debug --disable-eds --disable-gdu
--disable-libtool-lock --disable-gnome

However, I cannot make or recieve calls now. I will update this later when
I get the problem resolved.

The purpose of this email is to highlight the resmgr problem.
After I got the libs problem sorted the compile then failed with a 'cannot
load resmgr' message.

This is correct there is no resmgr on 11.1.

So I did a contents search of the 3.0.1 src and found the following have
the word resmgr in them.

/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/libekiga_engine.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/.libs/libekiga_engine.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/libekiga.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/.libs/libekiga.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/addressbook/evolution/libgmevolution.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/addressbook/evolution/.libs/libgmevolution.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/gui/gtk-core/libgmgtk-core.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/gui/gtk-core/.libs/libgmgtk-core.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/gui/gtk-frontend/libgmgtk-frontend.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/gui/gtk-frontend/.libs/libgmgtk-frontend.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/toolbox/libtoolbox.la
/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/toolbox/.libs/libtoolbox.la

I am not aware at this stage if any/all of the above actually do a call to
load resmgr, they just have the word in there.

To be clear, with the normal ./configure I get the resmgr problem, with
the above configure I don't.

Re: [Ekiga-list] What is 'ekiga's internal roster'?

2009-01-07 Thread Brian

All,

FWIW, we use the term roster in XMPP to refer to a contact list.

That's for that very reason it's named like that in ekiga ;-)

FYI, roster has a specific meaning in English.
It is a list that is rotated.
So you put up a roster to operate a school canteen for example.
Couple one does it on Monday couple two does it on tuesday etc.

May I suggest that copying somebodies bad use of a word does not make it
correct.

Just me being pedantic,

I cannot make SIP calls with Ekiga 3.0.1 on openSUSE 11.1.

I was using, up until recently the 2.x releases of Ekiga, and they
worked perfectly. I could connect to my VoIP provider and make calls.
Ekiga 3.0.1 is another story though.

I have cleared out all previous Ekiga config files, and gone through
the setup wizard. I declined the ekiga.net SIP account because I
already have a SIP account with my long standing VoIP provider.

I have set up my SIP account, and Ekiga appears to be able to connect
to it. I have triple checked the user name and password used to
connect (the same SIP account I have used for several years with Ekiga
and my VoIP provider).

When I attempt to make a call to a landline (via my VoIP provider),
all I seem to get is the message User is not available

Ekiga is working (sound setup etc) because if I intentionally mis-dial
and enter an invalid phone number I get a voice error message from my
VoIP provider.

I thought this might be a VoIP provider problem, but if I try Ekiga
2.12 from another Linux install it works fine... so it would appear to
be directly linked to this version of Ekiga.

Does anyone know what could be going wrong here and how I can fix it?

I did a quick search, and I fould messages from you about compiling...
but nothing I read seem to link to the prob I'm encountering.. I might
have missed something though

One of the things you should have found is using gconf-editor to see if you
do have the stun server set. While you are there you might want to have a
look at your listening port and port range, if they are non standard.

From your post I cannot tell, do you ever get registered?

Two things spring to mind, one is you sy you declined the ekiga sip
account,

but did you remove the stun server as well?

In the 3.0.1 setup wizard, there is no step that details STUN server
setup - not that I saw anyway. There are two steps for establishing
an ekiga.net account for outgoing and incoming calls. Both steps have
a checkbox at the bottom for skipping that step.

Agreed but it still may be worth checking.

The other is that you are possibly running the wrong version.

The wrong version of what? Ekiga? It was/is the version released
with openSUSE 11.1, and the build from the openSUSE repositories. If
it's the wrong version, I would imagine that a lot of openSUSE users
will be trying to use a broken build :-P i hope that's not the case
here.

I did mean the wrong version of ekiga. I originally used the opensuse one
and could not get my camera to work. I then switched to the rep-oss
version and it all worked.

To be fair I was trying a LOT of things at the time, so YMMV here.

I would be interested to know(if you are a KDE user) if you managed to
compile it.

Yes, I'm a KDE user... KDE4 to be sepcific. I haven't tried compiling
Ekiga, or anything in openSUSE 11.1 yet. Just puling repo stuff for
now.

Great, if you ever get around to compiling please post the result.
I had no problem with PTLIB and OPAL, but could not get ekiga to go.

Damien,

It's a crash!

Can you get us a backtrace next time ?

See:
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Debugging_Ekiga#How_to_send_us_a_backtrace_from_a_crash

Checked out the page and started ekiga with

I then got the output below.
So I went and checked and I do not have any debug versions.
Now I know I can compile PTLIB and OPAL with the the debug enabled.
However, as per previous emails I cannot compile ekiga.
SO,
1) Is my current gdb run worthwhile?
2) Is it worthwhile running with just ptlib and opal with debug.
3) Can someone supply me with a debug 32bit ekiga that will run on suse
11.1

ANd im using a HSPA connection for internet

I have enable the ip_port_forwarding to '1' too.

Pls, help me on this situation.

I have just upgraded to 3.0.1. I can recommend this path if you can.
In the process of setting up to register with my new provider I did a test
to ekiga.net,which worked.

When I tried to register with my provider it failed.
So I removed the ekiga.net account and it still failed.
I then ran wireshark(also recommended to see what is going on) and found
that my register process was still trying to use the stun server.

To remove this you have to use gconf-editor. See previous posts.
Not sure why it was failing when it used the stun server, but it looked
like it might have been a timing thing.

Now my router has the uPnP facility, which enables applications to find
there way through the NAT(if started from inside), also my provider does
not require a stun server.
Not sure if this was required, in any event the next time I tried to
register it worked and has been working ever since.

So what I am suggesting is removing the stun server may be worthwhile.

I also note that you say your connection works 'sometimes'.
I guess there could be many circumstances for this, but his is one and is
easy to check.

I shut ekiga down once and it would not reregister.
On checking my router I found that it was still holding the listening port
up, in my case that was port 5065 but it is normally 5060.
I just waited for the timeout in the router and ekiga reregistered
straight away.
So you could check how long your router holds a port up for after it has
been disconnected.

As always YMMV with any of the above, because I cannot see what is
actually going on.

However, I say again it is worth getting to know wireshark.

[Ekiga-list] ekiga 3.0.1 failure

2009-01-04 Thread Brian

Damien,
I have had the failure below 3 times, this time I managed tocatch it in
the log.

It does not seem to occur after any specific period.

1) Started ekiga -d 4 output.txt 21, it ran for nearly 24hours.

2) The icon in the tray disappeared and I was left with a window that
looked like the attached(hope that is ok).

3) Below is the last bit of the log(doctored).

ekiga restarts fine.

[Ekiga-list] Logon Problem

2009-01-02 Thread Brian

Damien,
I have recently got a working version of 3.0.1 on my suse11.1, the
previous one did not give me the option to select a V4L2 camera.
As an aside I think this new version is a lot more robust.

I am now at the point where I try to login.
NOTE: I have used gconf-editor to change my listen port to 5065.
This is because I am using ekiga as the softphone while my ATA is
still connected(using 5060) to another account.

Below is an extract from the log showing the ip/ports coming back
correctly but I get a 404. I am pretty sure this is because my account
is not set up properly at my provider.
Can you confirm or can a 404 mean something else?
Note also that I have temporarily removed my ekiga account so I am not
using a stun server.

Thanks,
 Brian

Damien,
Please disregard this query.
FYI, On checking through the debug output I saw that it was still going
out to the ekiga stun server.
I used gconf-editor to remove the stun server, and have just made my
first call:)).

Thanks for a great product, and you, Eugen and Fabrice for your support
with this.

Brian.

Re: [Ekiga-list] Logon Problem

2009-01-02 Thread Brian
Damien,

  A!

Precisely:)

What was the solution to the compilation problem ?
Unfortunately, there is no solution.
I am happy to pursue it further offline if you like.
However, I am not sure if it is worth the effort.
The problem was/is that I run kde.
As such I have almost no gnome stuff installed by default.
When I do install gnome stuff it gets put into /usr/lib not
opt/gnome/lib where your software goes looking for it.
I forgot to ask Fabrice when he said that he managed to compile, if he
was using/had installed, the gnome desktop.

In addition I think I was picking up some older libs( I did an upgrade
from 10.3-11.1) as the compile wanted to use resmgr which no longer
exists on 11.1.

Again many thanks,
Brian

So you are now using a binary package ?
Yes, in desperation I downloaded it again and did a reinstall and this
time it worked.

Re: [Ekiga-list] Compile Problem Resolved sort of.

2009-01-01 Thread Brian

Brian,

1) I am still not able to compile.
The libtool that gets generated in the ekiga-3.0.1 directory contains a
mass of files that are hardcoded with /opt/gnome/lib.
As mentioned previously on my particular system SUSE 11.1 32bit I do not
have anything in /opt/gnome/lib. All the required files have been put
into /usr/lib.
I cannot see how to change this setup, so I am going to leave it for
now( I may try a fresh install to see what happens).

2) I am able to leave it because I have just done yet another download
of the SUSE supplied package and this time it has worked.
This is because when you run the config assistant it now gives me the
option to select UVC (camera id) (PTLIBV4L2). This option was not
available previously.
See below for the version I am running.

Many thanks Eugen for your pointers.

2008-12-31 Thread Brian

Eugen,

In the original version (sources only), I do not have these files.

After compilation, I do have these files, but they do not reference resmgr.

Yes it makes me think that I am picking up a file a I shouldn't, from
the old 10.3 system. There should be no reference to resmgr in 11.1.

I did a make clean and then started again with your configure options,
except I used /user/lib.
I think PTLIB and OPAL went a lot better, I definitely saw messages that
seemed to be including V4L2 this time.

However, on recompiling ekiga I ended up with the same resmgr problem.
Next I thing I will try re extracting the tarball and start with a clean
slate, but it is 03.00 and I am falling asleep.

Re: [Ekiga-list] Compile Problem

Eugen,
I am still getting these errors.
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/opt/gnome/lib/libgnomevfs-2.la'
or unhandled argument `/opt/gnome/lib/libgnomevfs-2.la'

On doing a reinstall for the package that contains this file I see that
it gets put into /usr/lib.
Checking /opt/gnome/lib there is literally nothing in there.

Is that the case with your system?
If so how do I tell the libtool to go look in /usr/lib?

Re: [Ekiga-list] Compile Problem

2008-12-30 Thread Brian
Eugen,
Thanks this put me on the right track.
I can confirm that suse 11.1 is the problem.

In ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/ it still uses *.la files all these have been
removed in 11.1, in addition there is practically nothing in
/opt/gnome/lib. Most of those files have been moved to /usr/lib.
There were about 6 other files that were deleted altogether.
What a mess!
Anyway I got over all of them, and engine compiled ok.

Now I get to
/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.3/../../../../i586-suse-linux/bin/ld:
cannot find -lresmgr
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

make[1]: Leaving directory `/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Only to discover that suse dropped support for resmgr after 10.3.
It nolonger exists in 11.1. Suse now appears to use hal-resmgr.

Once I figured out what libs were required where, I coped, but I do not
understand how to proceed with this one.
Is it possible to remove the requirement to load resmgr?

Thanks,
Brian

I didn't know what resmgr is, so I took a look at
http://www.lst.de/~okir/resmgr. In debian, my machine, resmgr does not
exist. I searched resmgr in ekiga, ptlib and opal, and I haven't found
it either. So I imagine it's suse which adds it to the command line??
Look at the parameters of gcc (gcc -v or other flags, I don't know).
Also, try to install the package providing resmgr library.

On my system the following files reference resmgr.
file:///Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/libekiga_engine.la
file:///Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/.libs/libekiga_engine.la

On your debian system do you use *.la files at all?
If not then I need to look at why I do.

Fabrice,
a quick mail to say I successfully compiled ekiga 3.0.1 on my OpenSUSE
11.1 (x86_64 version) at work past afternoon.
just using the sources tarballs provided at www.ekiga.org
I used standard ./configure command the only noticable thing is that I
  had to provide --libdir=/usr/lib64 explicitelly.

Great, at least we know it is possible.
Can I ask if you did a new install of 11.1 or an upgrade?
I am using the same tarballs as you but somehow I end up looking for resmgr.

I'll resend a mail tomorrow with the exact ./configure command I used
when I'll be back at work.

Will give it another go as soon as I get it.

 This is the old plugin.

Yes I agree, unfortunately emails do not convey levels of frustration:)

ekiga 3.0 compiles only with the latest versions of ptlib (previously
caled pwlib) and opal: ptlib 2.4.2 (you have here 1.10.10) and opal 3.4.2.

I have 3.0.1 plus Opal 3.4.3 plus ptlib 2.4.2 here each in a separate
directory.
I compiled opal and ptlib with no apparent problem.
However, try as I might I could not get 3.0.1 to compile.
Is there some subtle thing I am missing like putting opal and ptlib in
some directory? Telling ekiga where to find the other two?
Also not I am running a kde system, so I think it even money that I am
missing some gnome stuff.

After about two days I have up and went back to the supplied suse
version, with as you correctly say pwlib problems.
With this the echo test to 5...@ekiga.net works but no video etc.

In a nutshell I know I really need to get 3.0.1 going.

The frustrating thing is that a friend dropped it in on a deb system and
was making calls within 30mins:)

Re: [Ekiga-list] Compile Problem

2008-12-27 Thread Brian

Damien,
Lets tackle one problem at a time:)
 argument `/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.3/../../../libsigc-2.0.la'

Do you have the devel versions of libsigc++2 installed ?

Yes I do, the libsigc-2.0.la is not in it.
However, I think this may be a package problem(don't quote me:)

I did a search for libsigc-2.0.la across my whole system(I have a 10.0 a
10.3 and a 11.1 of suse) and it was only found in the old 10.0 system.
So either I have not installed some gnome requirement or the file is no
longer valid on newer systems.

Then I noticed that this file is called by libtool.
I had to install libtool on my system, but you have a shell script
called libtool in the /ekiga-3.0.1 directory. I renamed this to see if
it would pick up my system libtool and it said

/bin/sh: ../../../../libtool: No such file or directory
make[6]: *** [liblocal-roster.la] Error 127
make[6]: Leaving directory
`/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/presence/local-roster'

etc.

Which is correct as I had just renamed it.
I guess my question is, should it be using my system libtool?
If not what do I have to install to satisfy your libtool so that it can
find libsigc-2.0.la, if it is still valid?

BTW I am running the normal ./configure make with no flags on either

Thanks,
Brian

[Ekiga-list] Compile Problem

2008-12-26 Thread Brian
Hi,
I am trying to compile ekiga 3.0.1 on a SUSE 11.1 system.
I am not sure if there are two problems or they are related.

1) My configure comes up with

configure:5040: gcc -E conftest.c
conftest.c:14:28: error: ac_nonexistent.h: No such file or directory
configure:5046: $? = 1
configure: failed program was:
| /* confdefs.h. */
| #define PACKAGE_NAME ekiga
| #define PACKAGE_TARNAME ekiga
| #define PACKAGE_VERSION 3.0.1
| #define PACKAGE_STRING ekiga 3.0.1
| #define PACKAGE_BUGREPORT
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=ekiga;
| #define PACKAGE ekiga
| #define VERSION 3.0.1
| #define MAJOR_VERSION 3
| #define MINOR_VERSION 0
| #define BUILD_TYPE ReleaseCode
| #define BUILD_NUMBER 1
| /* end confdefs.h. */
| #include ac_nonexistent.h
configure:5079: result: gcc -E
configure:5108: gcc -E conftest.c
configure:5114: $? = 0
configure:5145: gcc -E conftest.c
conftest.c:14:28: error: ac_nonexistent.h: No such file or directory
configure:5151: $? = 1
configure: failed program was:
| /* confdefs.h. */
| #define PACKAGE_NAME ekiga
| #define PACKAGE_TARNAME ekiga
| #define PACKAGE_VERSION 3.0.1
| #define PACKAGE_STRING ekiga 3.0.1
| #define PACKAGE_BUGREPORT
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=ekiga;
| #define PACKAGE ekiga
| #define VERSION 3.0.1
| #define MAJOR_VERSION 3
| #define MINOR_VERSION 0
| #define BUILD_TYPE ReleaseCode
| #define BUILD_NUMBER 1
| /* end confdefs.h. */

2) The make fails with
libtool: link: cannot find the library
`/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.3/../../../libsigc-2.0.la' or unhandled
argument `/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.3/../../../libsigc-2.0.la'
make[6]: *** [liblocal-roster.la] Error 1
make[6]: Leaving directory
`/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine/presence/local-roster'
make[5]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[5]: Leaving directory

make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib/engine'
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1/lib'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/Documents/SOURCE/SUSE11/ekiga-3.0.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I have libsigc(2.2.2-40.25) installed.
/usr/lib/libsigc-2.0.so.0
/usr/lib/libsigc-2.0.so.0.0.0

Would I be better off trying to use the head version?
If so what is the svn command for it?

FYI,

I tried to use the supplied ekiga from suse 11.1 but it would not give
me the option to use a V4L2 camera.

Also I nolonger get the option to do a test during the config wizard.

Thanks,
Brian

[Ekiga-list] Logitech Webcam (Not GO) solution

2008-09-27 Thread Brian Fahrlander

Back when I was a highly-paid engineer in Chicago, one of these
little Logitech Webcams got into my stable of parts- musta been 1996-97.
I wasted THREE HOURS trying to get the thing working under Windows, but
grinned brightly when I plugged it into Linux and it worked right out of
the box.

Fast forward to now: I just spent my 5th hour and final hour going
over google, trying to re-establish this kind of relationship.
Everything's newer now, and I understand that, going to 0v511-jpeg,
spcxxx, and so on. But short of getting out the source code and wasting
the afternoon (why?) I thought I'd ask if someone in this audience has
one of them working. Maybe I'll get a reply before someone empties the
trashcan. :)

I'm running a very 'clean' Ubuntu Hardy, no sourcecode or special
projects to get in the way. I'm getting the 'usb-returned -28' thing,
which I'm told is supposed to be the same as no space left on device.

I really don't want to break into source code; I shouldn't have to-
it's the foundational device on which all these others were built, and
it once took nothing at all. (We're regressing the way Microsoft's been
doing, lately).

If you have one of these under Linux, didn't have to hack into the
source code, let me know, aye? I'd sure appreciate it.

Actually there are two versions of their webcam between mine and
yours; unfortunately yours and ones that followed are the only ones they
[writers AND webcam designers] chose to move forward with. That's ok.
It's already where it needed to go.

I had an IRMan like this the other day; I spent $35 on it back in
those days. I must have put dozens of man-hours into getting it to work
on various versions of Redhat, then Fedora, then Ubuntu, but it worked
for like...30 minutes in it's lifetime. Every once in a while ya need
to throw things away, ya know? AND MAN, did it feel good!
