[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report

2023-06-04 Thread kevin

Good Evening,

Twenty meters had moderate QSB with fair to weak signals. Forty
meters was weak except to Moscow, ID :)  Topics ranged from yard work,
to wind, then smoke due to wildfires.  There was a thunderstorm between
me and the Southeast on twenty meters.  On forty the storms were in the
background.  Signals had an odd tone there though.  It was like the
effect you get during auroras. Kind of like sound under water.

[Elecraft] Elecraft 80M SSB Net Announcement

2023-06-04 Thread Dave New, N8SBE
Please join us on 3784 kHz (NOTE THE NEW FREQUENCY), 9PM ET Sunday
(0100Z Monday). Note that the net stays on the same local time, when we
switch back and forth to/from Daylight time, so the UTC time changes,
but not the local time.

Now that we have moved into Daylight time and have longer daylight
hours, 80M may not be as strong as during the winter.

Your net control this week will be Dave, N8SBE, and for the first time,
I'll be using my new K4D. I hooked it up to my KPA500 this afternoon,
so I should have as good a signal as I can get, considering band
conditions, etc.

Hope to see you this evening on the net.

73,

Re: [Elecraft] KPA3 Rev B not output

2023-06-04 Thread Fred Jensen
Life in the age of vacuum tubes [valves] and high voltages was much
simpler. Just take the bottom off and look for where the fire was in the
corner of the chassis.

Hi George,

Congratulations on your excellent sleuthing!
Regardless of which solder joints were
reflowed to solve the problem, you found
the troublesome one(s).

Thanks, too, for reporting back to the
reflector - it helps to spread the knowledge
base.
