[Elecraft] Elecraft 80M SSB Net Report

Most signals were good all around, except a couple of stations that were below the net control station's noise floor of S7 (sorry, city lot). Thanks to the relay stations (rel) that helped bring those stations into the net. Very nice hearing from the new check ins and in particular, Mike in CO and Gary in ID courtesy of multiple relays, and hope to see all of you again. The net concluded at 10:02 PM ET. Note that we will be going through a time change next week - the net will continue to meet at the same local time, 9PM ET, and we will try for a frequency in the General portion of the band, so more folks will be able to participate. "Watch this space." I'll make an announcement via the usual net announcement that goes out Sunday afternoon. Hope to see you next week! 73, -- Dave, N8SBE __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report
Good Evening, Both bands had low noise with moderate to deep QSB. Cold weather arrived early from Georgia to Michigan to Oregon. I had to break the ice on the birds' water basin this morning. They were skidding across the surface when they hopped off of the landing branch. KD5ONS - Here are some well animated videos on electro-magnetic theory. The first one is fairly simple. The others are progressively more complex. He uses light in his examples but the theory is valid at all frequencies. https://www.3blue1brown.com/lessons/barber-pole-1 https://www.3blue1brown.com/lessons/barber-pole-2 https://www.3blue1brown.com/lessons/light-quantum-mechanics __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
Re: [Elecraft] KAT500 Fail Firmware updgrade
I had a similar issue, and ended up re-loading 1.75, then upgrading to the latest utility, and re-flashing to 2.05. Of course, your mileage may vary. 73, -- Dave, N8SBE On 2023-10-28 16:52, Steven Cook wrote: Installed version is 01.75 trying to install 02.05 I get the following error message. [Elecraft] Elecraft 80M SSB Net Announcement
Please join us on 3784 kHz (NOTE THE NEW FREQUENCY), 9PM ET Sunday (0100Z Monday). Note that the net stays on the same local time, when we switch back and forth to/from Daylight time, so the UTC time changes, but not the local time. Now that we have moved into Daylight time and have longer daylight hours, 80M may not be as strong as during the winter. Your net control this week will be Dave, N8SBE. Hope to see you this evening on the net. 73, -- Dave, N8SBE __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
Re: [Elecraft] K2 Sidetone help
Thanks to Don, W3FPR for the reminder on how to check the firmware version. To Mike, WA5POK: as point of reference, I checked my K2 STL setting and it's quite loud at 002 using headphones. I recommend trying a lower STL level setting than the 060 I originally suggested. I only use headphones and did not test the sidetone level with the internal speaker. 73, Mike, K8CN __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
