[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Announcement

2024-03-09 Thread kevin

Good Evening,

The snow is no longer in the trees.  It has all fallen after pruning
the forest.  A few small trees are down, a few large tops, lots of
branches, thousands of cones, and millions of fir needles.  A good
supply of lichen is on the snow attracting the deer.  Squirrels are busy
processing the cones.

The sun is active with a new crop of sunspots.  The sunspot number
is below 100 but some of them have mixed magnetic fields. Those are
always interesting.  A few glancing CMEs during the week and another due
quite soon.  I expect a variety of types of QSB.

Please join us on (or near):

14050 kHz at 2300z Sunday  (3 PM PST Sunday)
7047 kHz at 0100z Monday  (5 PM PST Sunday)

73,
  Kevin.  KD5ONS

-

It is a cold winter,
Away is the songbird.
And gone is her traveler,
She waits at home.

The sun is on holiday,
No leaves on the trees.
The animals sleep
While cold North wind blows.

The snowflakes are falling,
The roof a white blanket.
There's ice on the window pane,
She waits alone.

She sits by the fireside,
The room is so warm.
Her children are sleeping,
She waits in their home.

[Elecraft] Inrad 700 Hz & 6K filters

2024-03-09 Thread Robert Brown via Elecraft
Recently located two eight-pole K3 / K3s filters in my cupboard (as I continue
to look for items to help pay for recently unexpectedly car repairs). The first
is a 700 Hz 8 pole CW filter that was custom-designed by the folks at Unpcbs,
and built by Inrad, Not many of these out there; $125/shipped. The other, a
KFL3A-6K is useful for AM / ESSB; $115/shipped. Both filters are in like-new
shape. Bob Brown, N1CVX

Re: [Elecraft] IF OUT - Same as just sharing the antenna?

2024-03-09 Thread Alan Alan
The K3's IF OUT bandwidth is limited only by the front-end RF filters so
it covers an entire amateur band, plus.  That is handy for a panadapter
because it is always centered on the VFO A frequency.  The IF center
frequency is 8.215 MHz.

Re: [Elecraft] K2 Number

2024-03-09 Thread Michael Carter via Elecraft
Hi Harold,

The K2 serial number is on an adhesive tag to
be placed on the lower rear panel of the radio.
It was in a very small manila envelope in
my K2 kit. I don't believe there is any internal
coding of the MCU that contains the rig's
serial number as there is in the K3.

Mike, K8CN

Harold, you should have received a sticker to be affixed to the rear
