This gives you the audio input/output you need, and the CAT control needed.

Re: [Elecraft] QSLs

2016-07-25 Thread Bill Rowlett
If all you want is a contact confirmation in the ARRL data base to be used for
an award from ARRL, than by all means use LOTW.

LOTW is not “the last courtesy of a QSO is a QSL.” A QSL which can be held in
you hand, can bring back a memory about the QSO, that is the last courtesy of
the QSO, not some data in a data bank somewhere.

As for me, all CARDS go by the buro, state side manager with SASE, or direct
with SASE.

Back in my hole now

Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft website now accessible through FIOS in NY

2016-01-04 Thread Bill Rowlett
I am sorry guys that some are having a problem with there service providers and
accessing the web site. Pick up the phone and call your provider, no one here
can fix it, so go help yourself by calling your provider.

Re: [Elecraft] [OT] increasing CW copy speed: practice slow -v- practice fast

2015-12-05 Thread Bill Rowlett
The best way to learn CW is the same as learning any language, by the sound of
the letters or charters. The speed you use to practice is not important, it is
writing down the letter when heard, over and over again. K7QO has a CW program
on his site which does just that. Also, it is finding the time and dedication
to put in the time needed. K7QO by the way has won copy contest at over 100wpm,
he knows what he speaks.

Just my two cents. Now, back to the practice.
