Re: [Elecraft] K3- Part fell out!
Thanks to everyone that offered suggestions. Primarily culprit is one of the surface mount resistors on the KPA3. I won't know for sure until I take the KPA3 out next week, but I had that part fail before on my personal K3. I got the repair info from Keith WE6R and, once I can verify (or not) that that is the problem, I can get on with repairs. [Elecraft] K3- Part fell out!
I dropped d a lock washer into the bowels of my K3 today, so had to invert the unit to get the washer out of the unit. When I did so, the washer fell out of the unit, but so did another component. Its a small rectangular part, white on one side and blackish on the other, and either "3K3" or "3R3" is stamped on it. I don't know where the part came from, or where it should go back' I'm just sure it doesn't belong sitting on my bookshelf rather than be in the radio. Can anyone maybe help me find where it should be going? I know its not an easy thing to diagnose, but any suggestions on where it should go before I try taking the radio apart again. [Elecraft] FS: K144XV and KFL3-B Filter
Make your K3 a 160-2m radio! Purchased a used K3S a couple of days ago, and it had a K144XV and KFL3-B 13KHz crystal filter installed in it. Since both are surplus to my needs, they are available for purchase. New, the two units went for about $700, but I'm willing to listen to reasonable offers. Please reply offline. Re: [Elecraft] VFO A Encoder Replacement
I forgot to mention- the encoder surgery is on a K3. Can someone give me some tips on how to do this? I can probably flounder thru it on my own, but it’s easier if I know pitfalls/tips before I start the surgery. Re: [Elecraft] KRX3 Mod
That answers my question. The KBPF3 is not being installed into the sub-receiver, and the K3S already has the part installed on the main RF board. So, no mod is needed. Thanks! [Elecraft] KRX3 Mod
I inquired yesterday about putting a KRX3 2nd receiver into a K3S radio. I was told yes, it will work, but there is a mod to essentially make it a KRX3A 2nd receiver. The mod consisted of adding a 270uF cap, but no further details past that. Where does that cap go in the circuit? [Elecraft] KAT3 for sale
For sale, a KAT3 internal antenna tuner for a K3. Works fine, but in the 10 years I've owned it I don't think I've used it twice. $275 postpaid to you. [Elecraft] KRX3 into a K3S
I've had a K3 with a KRX3 for quite a while. I recently purchased a K3S. Can I put the KRX3 into a K3S, or must I use a KRX3A for a K3S? I upgraded the K3 to the new synthesizers several years ago, so if that's a constraint I already have the new synthesizer. Any other considerations that I'm missing? [Elecraft] Rear panel mike jack
I have a K3 with a rear panel mike jack and the rear panel Line Out jack that have become intermittent. I can find the Line Out jack on the Elecraft website, but not the Mike input jack. Are they the same part number? For that matter, are all those jacks the same part number? And is there a replacement that can be purchased from Mouser or other supplier?
