[Elecraft] PX3 Questions
I just received the PX3 kit. It was rather straight forward to assemble and to set up. I am learning how to operate the PX3. I have two questions. 1. Configuring the power switch, page 22. Pins 2 3: The PX3 turns on automatically when power is applied and may be turned off and off using the PWR switch as long as power is applied. I find that the PX3 does not automatically turn on when power is applied. I need to manually turn on the PX3 by pressing the PWR switch after power is supplied. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? 2. PX3 Utility. The capture screen function does not work. When I press the capture image button in the utility program, the PX3 freezes and the KX3A100 turns off. I have remove power from the PX3 and I have to reset the PA Mode in the KX3 menu back to on. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue? Thank you. [Elecraft] KX3 2m Module Receive Volume
I have the KX# 2m Module and I have a question about the audio receive volume. I normally run my KX3 volume a 4-5 for SSB. I have to run the volume for 2m FM at 14-15 to achieve the same volume level at SSB. Is this normal. Please help. [Elecraft] KX3-2M Scanning
I have a question about scanning and the KX3-2M. I installed the KX3-2M and it is working fine. I am trying to use the scanning function and I am having problems. The KX3 scans. When there is a transmission on one of the 2M band channels in my KX3, the receiver stops momentarily and then starts scanning again. I do not hear any audio when the KX3 stops on the active channel. Is there any way to have the KX3 stop on the active 2M frequency, output the audio, and resume scanning when the signal drops? [Elecraft] Operating from a Hotel
Horrid electrical noise in hotels because of air conditioners. I stayed in a hotel in Redmond, WA. I tried using my KS3 with a 28' wire extending out from the window and a 16' counterpoise which was inside the hotel room. I was not able to receive anything on any band. All I heard was massive electrical noise at above S 20-40. I believe that this electrical noise was generated by variable speed motors in the air conditioning units. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions or solutions? I have found that 2-56 X 5/16 screws are the perfect fit for the battery box. The batteries fit and the battery box fit perfectly into the radio. I suggest using these screws for the battery box. [Elecraft] LiFePO4 Battery Pack Performance
I recently purchased a 4 cell LiFePO4 12.8v 4.5ah battery. I fully charged the battery to 14.4v and then hooked it up to my KX3. Total hours of run time = 21.4 hrs. Settings = backlight off, high power and all the other settings in normal positions. I transmitted in ssb for what would be a normal transmit / receive cycle. I received in ssb and psk 31. I have a question about saving frequencies to memories. I understand the basic procedure.
