You may have broke the DSP firmware by keeping a key pressed too long. Power down, remove from power for 30 seconds, then power up while holding the VFO button unfilled you hear a response from the speaker. Then try a reload. Some produced no response ie - MENU and CONFIG do not work at all, SUB does not work at all. Many buttons produce a response which is completely different from their intended function. The K3 is totally unusable. I tried to install the latest firmware and got the following on the K3 screen: E O2OCOC ERR DSE Firmware failed to load I now have a very expensive piece of equipment that is totally unusable. I have the KAT500 on order but I am wondering if I should cancel that order as I will not be able to use it. Present setup is K2/100, KAT100, KPA500, and resonant antennas on 75 and 40 meters. Very rarely do SSB on any other bands. Stations seem to have trouble describing the problem. Reports vary from fuzziness, distortion, to clipping. I bypassed the tuner and amp, hooking feed line directly to K2/100 and also turned the power down to ten watts to shut off the KPA100 and problem persists. No difference between MH2 and CM500 mics. These test were done with stations who know my rig and my voice. This is an early K2/100. All mods were done years ago to K2, SSB, and KPA100. Receive audio is unchanged. Visual inspection of boards look OK. As a further check, I connected my KX3 to amp and antennas with great results. Any suggestions? Last night I was making changes with config and it may have happened at that time but I'm locked on a frequency and can't seem to change it. When I move the sub receiver frequency with dial B, it shows me the voltage, time, PLL1, PLL2, temp and so on. The tell is the lock showing in the upper right corner of the LCD display above the mode indicator. I'm looking in the manual but haven't found the answer yet. What do I need to do to get unlocked?
