Re: [Elecraft] K2: power out issue on some (but not all) bands
Hi Ron. If you're seeing reduced output on 17-meters and higher frequencies, it might be an indication that only one of the two final transistors (2SC-1969) is functioning. 73, de John, KD2BD Visit John on the Web at: http://kd2bd.ham.org/ . . . . __ Do You Yahoo!? [Elecraft] K2: power out issue on some (but not all) bands
Colleagues, My rather olde K2 (SN 79) seems to have developed a "power issue". I notice recently that my wattmeter seemed to be reading a bit low on 17 metres and thought it warranted further investigation. So, I set the displayed power out to 5 watts on each band and here's what I got: 80 - 5.0 40 - 5.0 30 - 5.0 20 - 5.0 17 - 0.7 15 - 2.5 12 - 4.5 10 - 2.0 At first I thought something was wrong with my wattmeter (Oak Research WM-2) so I checked with an attenuator and Boonton power meter and my measurements are spot on. On every band the power meter (on the radio) reads at 1/2 of full scale. Any suggestions?
