Re: [Elecraft] K3 - Stand Alone Panadaptor

2009-03-24 Thread Trevor Smithers
Here are a couple of quotes from this list archive dated December 2008:

wondered if a dedicated Elecraft K3 panadaptor is still on the development
schedule.

Yes, definitely, unequivocally. (To use the vernacular: youbetcha :) I can't
give you any
timetable, and I can't reveal any details yet, but it will be highly
integrated with the K3, and will
look dynamite sitting next to it.

We'll be using the more common spelling: panadapter.

I hope your panadaptor does not need a computer connection.

It will work either way.

Elecraft are keeping schtum about that, Trevor. My guess is that they
are working on the panadapter and the KREF3-EXT external reference
option ready for launching at Dayton ;-0

Oh my... that would be glorious! I've been dying to have a standalone
spectrum scope that is computer-independent for some time.

Has anyone developed a stand alone Panadaptor without the need for a
computer? Is Elecraft considering this? The
stand alone unit would be something like Yaesu's DMU unit.
